Why do some people try to stalk others?

I have a friend who is like a good friend when but I find many of his behavior like stalking. He is having a girlfriend but many times I find him following me, or trying to sneek or hear my conversations. He tries to be touchy at times and I have recently found that many of our co friends are actually giving all my information to him. He doesn't make it obvous but manages to get my details. Why can't he mind his own business and let me be on my own. When I try to ignore him he purposly try to seek my attention. He is also my boss so it is difficult for me to really get away from him totally. What is the reason of some people trying to interfere in others personal matters or stalk others...why do they do this.

i am actually un the same situation, but the problem is I also like the guy!

he has been following me for 3 months and always has been starring at me, he smiles at me, he is touchy but never in an unpropriate way, he tickles me, sometimes he compliments me even in front of his girlfriend!

he was very much into me since the begining, but I didn`t wanna date him in the begining bcs he is several years younger, so he dated one girl in the begining for 3 weeks, than he started out dating another girl and he is with her now and actually looks closer to her than to the first one.but he still is flirty with me at times and still looks at me.i catch him looking at me , sometimes smiling while seeing me doing anything.i know he has kind of an interest in me , but what kind of interest is that?

he`s kissing his girlfriend in front of me , then still he looks at me with admiration!

My suggestion:

If he's stalking you, and you like him but would like him to stop - You need to tell him that you like him, you don't like how he is all up in your business (don't say stalking, because it may upset him), and that it makes you a bit uncomfortable, and that you don't want to feel uncomfortable around him.

Then tell him you care about him, and enjoy talking to him, but when he's always in your face and doesn't gave you space, it scares you off.

If he likes you, he will really think about it, and will back off.

But yes, usually if a guy is stalking, its either he likes you alot, trying to be annoying on purpose, or he's just a straight up creep. More than likely he just likes you alot, and if you like him, just communicate with him and let him know.

That's all you need to do. Communicate and be honest.

Hes crushing on you, sucks if you don't like him, just avoid, ignore him eventually he will give up ...

well I also like him but sometimes it gets creepy and irritating when his attention seeking is over done. Also since he keeps mentioning his girlfriend in a teasing way I am confused and don't understand how to deal with this. please advice..
