Is he waiting for me to text him?

*I asked this question before but it seems like people keep misunderstanding it so please read carefully! :)

There is a guy who I've been messaging on facebook for days. He finally gave me his number and said "text me". I sent him a text with my number so that he would have it. Two days later, I texted him and he replied back. He never ignored my texts, he always replied back to each one I sent. We only texted for one day. I didn't text him for a few days after that because I figured it was his turn now to text me first. Well it's been a whole month, and he hasn't texted me first. I never texted him either.

So the question is, what should I do now? Should I just text him, or should I wait (even though he might not text me)? Do you think he is waiting for me to text him? I don't understand how a guy can give a girl his number and not text her first, or expect her to text him first all the time!

A month?! I don't know about you but I think that is waaaay too long not to text someone, especially when he gave you his number and you texted him yours. Look, his fingers ain't broke. I think you should let this guy go because he is not worth your time is he hasn't made and effort to contact you in a month.

Maybe he wants to see how you feel about him and is waiting, or maybe he just wants to be friends and decided that you guys don't need to talk much, just text him first and if he doesn't respond ask him about it

I'd be hesitant to initiate any texts too early, but not because I wouldn't want to. Girls tend to label us "desperate" and "clingy" so goddamn fast, can you really blame the guy for being nervous? If I gave a girl my number and told her to text and she only initiated one conversation, I would assume she ceased liking me and move on. Personally, I need at least two initiations before I start initiating. I may be wrong, but if this were a bet, all my money would be on "he was nervous".

If you can still chat with him on Facebook, I'd suggest doing that first to break the month long silence. Honestly, best thing you can do is blatantly ask him why he never texted you. It will show him that you were, and still are, interested. If he says anything other than "I thought you lost interest" or something to that effect, he may not share mutual feelings (though, if he responds with something else, it wouldn't hurt to post it here for analysis [if you don't mind]).

Do you think he was interested in me? If he really wasn't interested in me, than he probably wouldn't have kept messaging me on facebook, and he wouldn't have given me his number. There could be many reasons why he never contacted me besides being nervous though. The problem is I don't know him that well, but I heard he's a very nice guy. I'm going to send him a message on facebook. I'm not going to ask why he never texted me though. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks :)

Damn, I wish you weren't anonymous. Anyways, I msged him "Hey stranger! I wanted to message you on facebook because I know how much you like messaging me here ;) haha.. what?s up?" and he replied back a few minutes later saying "Ahhahah I'm pretty. Sure you have my number no ?" What does he mean by I'm pretty? What should I say now?

Yes. That's perfect timing, actually. And I think what he typed was just a typo. I still stand by what I said before about asking him why he never contacted you. That's my advice, should you choose to use it.
