Is it ok for me to sleep in my boxers in coed hostel dorms?

I'm going to backpack throughout Central Europe and Israel, and stay at mixed-gender hostels. Is it appropriate for a dude to get comfortable and wear nothing but boxers to bed when sharing a room with the opposite sex? I usually sleep in my birthday suit so PJs are completely out of the question

I'm not sure about Israel, but I've found that in Europe, people are more relaxed about the various states of undress. I've backpacked in several European countries and I've seen women coming down to breakfast in nothing buy cotton undies and a huge shirt and heterosexual men painting the house wearing only boxer briefs (don't ask).

To me, boxer shorts are more or less the same thing as short PJ bottoms. I don't see a problem as long as you aren't acting like a creeper.

As long as you aren’t popping wood through the boxer hole when get out of bed in the morning, seems fine by me.

As a girl if you are sharing a room with me I think I'll feel that you respect me if you ask. I mean most girl will not mind but still it will show you are kind, polite and well-mannered.

Boxer shorts are ok. I typically sleep in an oversized t shirt and gym shorts

It's probably okay with most girls, but it would be good to ask just in case. Some people are uncomfortable with nudity. Just pack a comfy pair of shorts and a tank top, in case it becomes an issue.

Europe takes the stance that they are a lot more casual about being in the buff... I don't see it being a problem

Like in my trips to Scandinavia and to some parts of the Netherlands people barely bothered with modesty b/c the showers and changing rooms were also fully coed. But of course that's just the other extreme...

There's a big difference between boxers and women's panties. Boxers cover a guy pretty well, it's no different from wearing pyjama shorts.
