This is something that's always been on mind. But I wanna understand why do a lot of normal average looking guys always think they're so good and so much better looking. Like when giving they're opinion about an actress model or Instagram model etc.. they always seem to be so opinionated and mention how ugly they are or how "meh she's okay", "shes not my type", "I wouldn't date her" or point out all her minor flaws ; when in fact the girl would be way out of his league and much more attractive than he is. They'd always point out any little flaw she has and pretend like they actual have a chance with her and that they would actually turn her down. I've seen this happen a lot in front of me and its usually below average or average looking guys and I dont understand it. Like when they'd be talking like that, all I'd wanna do is point out how the girl is much more attractive then them and also who do they think they are to act that way. Also I clearly dont mean all guys act this way, but it's just a trend I've noticed. Plus I'm sure a lot of girls act this way as well. So I basically wanna know the reason. Like what makes them so entitled and confident. Is it bc of how society scrutinizes womans looks and apearance? Also what's are your opinions on the matter, do you agree or disagree. It's just something I've noticed so there's no need to be rude. Be respectful it's only a discussion.

I dont mind their opinions, attractiveness is subjective, I dont believe every attractive person is attractive in everyones eyes, butttt what pisses me off is when they start calling them names, saying they're ugly, degrading them and bringing them down as of that will give them a sense of security about themselves, and pointing out their every flaw. Why are average looking guys so opinionated about attractive looking girls?
The same reason girls post hateful comments, it’s related to their insecurity in some form, wether it’s sexual, emotional, whatever. The action of hurting and judging people comes from the hateful voice inside of us, regardless of gender, but the reasons can be very different for men and women. And statistically men are going to be more aggressive about. Men are allowed to get away with that behavior more in life as well because of what people deem as just boys being boys. Women may engage in the same behavior but are more likely to be punished and scolded for it.
I think it has something to do with them being intimidated by these ladies. They are aware that these girls get hit on a lot by other guys and they know they have zero chance to be with them unless they are also those buffy insta famous men. They try to convince themselves by saying she is average looking because they sense rejection by looking at her. It could also be a PUA tactic, where a man lower a woman confidence to make her bad and get back to him begging for his validation.
Yeah i noticed it too, and i dont like it. But its not only with celebrities, its with all girls. My friends are seriously not attractvie at all, some of them are fat or super skinny. And they talk about legitemaly pretty girls ( 8/10 or whatever) like "mehh, yeah she's pretty but nothing special". Makes me mad every single time and i get the urge to shout "TAKE A LOOK AT YOURSELF YOU DEGENERATE".

Models are often physically gorgeous. I'm definitely not a model. But I also know that looks are not everything. They aren't even the main thing. And there's plenty of evidence out there when someone in the public eye turns out to be a vacuous dumb bitch.
Also, it can happen that a woman or a type is put forward by the media. And women put a lot of stock in that bullshit, it seems sometimes. How many girls do you know who get upset because they don't fit a certain type promoted by the cover of a magazine?

2. I doubt there is any real trend where average men are more likely to criticize women based on their appearance. It might just seem that way as a result of average men being more common than attractive men. Alternatively, you might just be more likely to notice it or find it irritating when an average man does it because it seems wrong while an attractive guy doing it seems more justified in your eyes and thus flies under your radar.
3. The fact that those women are paid and have in many cases gotten rich based on their appearance does legitimately open them up to more criticism on their appearance compared to women in other occupations.
4. OK cupid has done research on how each sex rates the other's appearance and they actually found that women judged attractiveness more harshly than men did.

Yeah that pretty much sums it up. Models actors actresses, they make themselves a big deal, and they put a large amount of emphasis on they’re appearance. Some people fall all over them and treat them like they’re the most beautiful people alive. What about the normal girl that are being judge bc I mentioned that I have witnessed it happened countless times in front of me. And to explain it a little, when you're talking about famous people, opinions on them tend to be stronger because they do so much for attention and they are constantly shoved in our faces by the media.
So if you mean it's wrong to criticise people who are objectively more attractive than you, then I disagree. Making up criticism about someone is of course wrong, I think most people can agree that trying to make others look bad with lies is immoral. That said if the person sees a criticism, why should they be forced to hold it back? Do you consider personal opinions and free speech to be harmful?

From my perspective what i noticed is that a lot of peoples identity and values system revolves around their beauty. Which is a majority of Girls but to different extents also.

The fact that I can't tell you what average is? Average is a lot of things and so is attractive. But there are people who are more attractive than others. there's attractive and than average people and then people who haven't got much going for them in the looks department, that's what I mean. What I described earlier isn't average but what is generally viewed as good looking.
Average is a center point for a set of data or a value you get from adding numbers together and dividing them by the number of values you add. Its not you being more attracted to one guy over another. That's all subjective. Often your feeling can influence who you believe is attractive and who isn't.
In my opinion, women are far more opinionated about other women's looks compared to men. Even GaG, a place where trolls gather and party, you'll find Girls and Pink Anons (who, admittedly, could be men) are the ones who routinely create threads like "Who's prettier? Woman A or Woman B" or "Do you feel this hot female celebrity is actually just average looking?"
I understand your frustration. But like you already said in one of your updates, attractiveness is subjective. I do understand your point of view though.
The only thing that bothers me about your post though, is when you say "when in fact she's way out of his league". Because again, thats only your opinion. Personally i dont believe in "leagues". Simply because that women who is supposedly very objectively attractive, might be attracted to the objectively average looking guy. At the end of the day though people are entitled to their opinions and people are just attracted to what they are attracted to regardless of their own appearance. So while I understand your frustration of a seemingly ugly guy criticizing a what seems to be a very attractive woman you still need to keep in mind that those people may have honest opinions that are different from yours.
There are two factors that come into play in this issue: (1) critiquing "fantasy girls/guys" is detachment from actually coming into contact with them in person, and (2) girls appearance is more altered than men's; so, you're comparing apples to oranges with regard to attractiveness.

Judging people based on their looks is wrong, but you are doing it too - you are saying that if a guy is average looking it's somehow different if they are talking about attractive girls than if the guy was attractive and the girl was not "out of his league". I would like to understand why do many attractive women think they are entitled to better treatment just because they are attractive - they were born that way, they did not deserve it in any way. Nobody should feel someone is worse than them or not in their league just because they think they are more attractive than the other person - a person's value should not be based on how they look like.

@Adelina: Good that you explained that because your original question was about girls who are more attractive than guys who comment on their appearance and about you saying they don't have a chance because they are in a "lower league" so why do they feel entitled to make comments. Unfortunately too many people these days think that being attractive inherently makes them more valuable than others and gives them a licence to treat less attractive people like dirt. As for commenting on appearance of other people, I also think it's quite disgusting when people publicly denigrate others based on their appearance. Obviously, everyone is attracted to different things so even if a person is average looking they can still find a person who other people find attractive unattractive. But they shouldn't publicly disparage them or criticise their appearance. Unfortunately in our society gossip is very popular and people (both women and men) often gossip about others and denigrate others when these people are not present (whether by making comments about their personality flaws, appearance, things they did, etc.). It's wrong and it can be very damaging. Some people just cannot help talking about their opinions and some people use gossip as an immoral way to boost their social standing by decreasing social standing of others.

well actresses and instagram models are judged differently when they are just an image on the web browser vs when they are in the same room as you and smile at you. In the former case it's hard to be impressed by photos of some actress because they have to compete with a lot of other sexy things in my hard drive

They have a hard time getting attracted girls, or they just assume they will have and so they go off on the genetic injustice of the world. The worst of that being if they turn to incels. But at a certain point beauty is subjective as well, and the guys you've met who you thought as average and below might not have received the same opinion from other girls.
Just because someone is average, doesn't mean they can't dislike above average women. They still have preferences. when men like this point out stuff like this it's not always because they think they have a chance. Average girls do the same thing with guys, so how about you ask them instead?

No one is good enough to attact every single person. Everyone has their own preferences and find different people attractive for different reasons. Just because someone is famous doesn’t mean they are the paradigm to follow. They’re just another person. They’re not special because they are famous or rich. Someone in Hollywood liked them and promoted them, it wasn’t a democratic process to put them in that position so some people might think they are attractive and others will not.
Look I know and understand that they may not meet everyones attraction standards. But it's just the way they go about it. Their mannerisms. How they point out every flaw. The bad things they say and call her. That's what pisses me off. Mostly when theyve got enough flaws themselves that they shouldn't be judging and criticizing others that way

Guys don’t tend to tip toe for the sake of sensitivity especially for someone they don’t know or care about. Girls tend to glamorize random nobodys and those people don’t register as important to guys. We’ll be considerate to people close to us that have earned our respect, but that consideration doesn’t extend blindly to random celebrities. They don’t deserve respect just because they are famous. Like I said it's happened in real life as well so it's not only to celebs but about girls they know in real. Friends, mutuals etc... but doesn't everyone deserve respect. I mean also everyone sees those comments online. The celebs aren't the only ones affected by those comments

I've had my appearance picked apart by girls for my entire life, but I realize I can't stop people from thinking I'm unattractive. I'm also not going to silence their opinions just because they are lower on the attractiveness scale (which doesn't really exist because attraction is subjective) than me. I understand that my attraction to them and their attraction to me are two separate issues and shouldn't interfere with each other.

In my opinion, if you wanna give your opinion, do it respectfully, if you have nothing good to say dont say anything at all. That affects peoples self esteem and confidence. Girls wear makeup and take 1000 selfies to get the one they share. On the other hand, men dont wear makeup and won't take more than 2 selfies. So just because the IG photo is more attractive looking, most of these girls are not that attractive. I worked in modeling industry for a few years, supposed hot girls are not really that hot.

I think you might just be getting caught up with your own hypothesing. Is this theory re true, close to true, a little bit true? I think it's worth asking yourself because I am noticing quite a lot of flaws in the context here.
Okay so it's just a theory due to what I've noticed personally and I have mentioned that. And like I said it's just something I wanted to discuss to see what others opinions about it are. Sure, my point though is that you shouldn't get carried away with it. People can very easily be mislead by their own ideas and come to believe in them even past the moment they are disproven. It happens become ideas are seductive and people are easily fascinated with things that strike their imagination. When it happens people become crazy, and I am just cautioning you to avoid that instance, because to me this doesn't seem all that well thought out. It seems like you could work on understanding it a bit better.
Also, never rely on popular opinion for either truth or facts. You only need to observe an individual to know they are almost always mistaken about anything, a collection of people only increases this tendancy.
I mean I don't think I'm getting carried away with it. It was only something that sometimes crossed my mind. It doesn't make up a large portion of my life or whatever. So yea like I said just a topic of discussion.

Like let me give an example. I had this teacher and we were all friends like students and teachers. She was fit, fashionable, she had a pretty face, she was kind. And this guy. He was out of shape, wore the same outfit for a week, didn't look like anything special. And hed always give opinions about the teacher's looks. And he wasn't even respectful about it. She wasn't there when he did ofc but it always bothered me. Like she looks much better than him anyone could attest to that. And it wants only about her he did it quite a lot about girls apearances.
Well, the Internet doesn't count at all. As for real life, it's pretty easy to critique or turn down something you'll never have a chance to have. There was a question on here about a week ago. That guy you described is extremely insecure. A lot of people are like that. The only way they can elevate their status, is by attempting to lower yours. That's really all they got in their bag of tricks. I just try my best to just ignore them.

These Instagram models are way to glamorous for the average guy. Its really excessive. Girls like the glam in these models but guys really dont. What you think is attractive we really dont consider attractive. An average man would rather have Grace Kelly than Kylie Jenner if its about beautiful women.

Okay. You can't even deny that we live in a society which is so based on looks. Looks are always a playing factor. Whether we like it or not. You might even think about it subconsciously. But everyone does. How ever hard we try not to we still do sometimes. Now the thing in my question wasn't bc I saw average guys as inferior. Not placing the gorgeous models in a pedestal and claiming they can't be critiqued. But when those guys, start critiquing those girls in a disrespectful way.
