What does it mean when a guy has a lot of female friends?

I've known this guy for a year and he's a total gentleman with me. He's super nice and sweet. He doesn't have a girlfriend but I've noticed how the majority of friends he has are females. What does this mean?

He's not gay for sure. He's got pretty masculine interests like Football etc. and he's not extremely well groomed or anything. He does have male friends but they are less than his female friends.

I'm like this sometimes. Maybe I have a few more close female friends than males. A sample of some of my friends:

But I like to think I'm reasonably "masculine". I like to guzzle beer and arm wrestle. I'm kind of a "frat boy" and jackass at heart.

The thing is with guys, that's all I do. We arm wrestle, notice pretty girls' asses, and get totally smashed. So with girls, I can actually talk to them like normal people without arm wrestling and getting hammered, so I like hanging out with girls too for a break from all that.

Plus with female friends, they introduced me to lots of girls who ended up being my dates in the past, including my now-wife. It's handy that way. Also wing-women work way better than wing-men in my experience for picking up girls in bars and clubs. I found way more girls approaching me when I was with one of my female friends than one of my guy friends.

For me, with my own vibe and everything, guy friends are more "fun", but female friends are more "genuine". The female friends I make are ones that don't mind my habits though like making lots of sexual jokes and arm wrestling with guys (and I'll even arm wrestle with girls and I never take it easy on them).

I did develop a rep somewhat like a "player" but I never lied or manipulated a girl into the bed. The reason I developed that rep is that I did fool around a lot, and lots of female friends are girls who rejected me when I asked them out, but I figured we could still be friends anyway (they might have girlfriends I could ask out instead that I could meet, or make awesome wing-women at night clubs).

Mostly I think that's why I have slightly more female friends than male friends. I never asked guys out since I'm not gay. But if I ask a girl out and she rejects me, I do it in a very light-hearted and humorous way where we can usually still be friends and hang out a lot after. So the extra number of females in my groups comes mostly from that.

Well I can at least speak from experience in that I only enjoy having female friends. I just don't click with guys. They're not fun to talk to or be around and you definitely can't express any feelings with them. And I can promise you I'm boringly straight. I wish I were bisexual or gay, trust me, but I'm the most stereotypical white straight boy ever. I just don't like being around other ones.
