If he is frugal or if he's struggling with finances and can't spend that much I can understand it. If he's stingy... well maybe not a dealbreaker, but not a turn on either. There are occasions when you can't be cheap because it turns to be more expensive in the long run.

Being frugal is a good thing. Being smart enough to think ahead and budget for things. The expensive isn’t always the best. If you save money on the everyday you’ll have more saved to do things that are worth spending some of the hard earned cash on.
