Guys, What does it mean when a guy DMs you on Instagram by commenting a story update?

He saw my update about me graduating from university and he congratulated me. He only knows my first name because of our mutual friends. We've had very short conversations before that.

yes mam, if you just a way to not come out creepy, start it with a good welcoming message and then keep the conversation going and eventually you can earn trust and it keeps going, you can start with hello how are you but its a little old and usually you get ignored or take ages to get a respond, starting it with a interesting topic is sorta like a headstart, skipping all the hellos and hooplas lol, its all about the first impression and things like this is sorta like a advantage you can take, like an opening lets say 😅, its not creepy and an interesting topic to start a conversation with someone. 🙂

Ok we've been following each other for a while and that's first time that he commentes on my story. He didn't comment on my story even when it was my Bday. Anyway whwn he congratulated me I only replied to him thank you with a emoji. Was my reply bad? Also he could've messaged me more more or something.

thats happened to me before, i usually dont answer either, those are words i call the convo killers, there's no possible response to that without sounding desperate, you are basically forced to stop talking lol, if you wouldve said something else he probably wouldve kept it going unless he has no intention of talking to you more, could only be me that does that 🤷‍♂️
