Should I stop messaging this guy?

So I matched with this guy on tinder who is at uni with me on the same course 2 years above.
We have been messaging for nearly 2 months now and we met 1 month in, on our uni courses ball. We had a chat and it was lovely but clearly he’s not interested because we won’t ask me out despite messaging me continually. After the ball I even said it was nice seeing you after all this messaging am I gonna see you again? He even said of course.
When guys like you they’re meant to make effort to see you.

He sounds like just a prick, try to ask him out, guys like this and he might be shy, for like I'm on tinder and when i talk to a girl i am lost at continuing the conversation haha! Try asking his hobbies, he probably plays games, if he does then continue it by saying "you should teach me this game at this game cafe". But yes he sounds like those guys that want a hot girl with a good body, so ignore him. Guys like him never will get a girlfriend. It's only 0.1% of these guys. Plenty of men out there
