Why are Indian males so weird when approaching women online?

Aside from plenty of rape-related news I read over the years, I do not know anything about Indian men, so that's why I'm asking ”what the heck is up with these guys?”.

The worst part is not that they have infiltrated everywhere, but the fact that wherever they'll see an opportunity to hit on a woman, they'll do it, and they are going to do it in an extra creep-like manner. For example, a week ago I downloaded a Scrabble app so I can play while I stay at home during the lockdown; this app has a mini-chat where you can wish your opponents ”Good luck” & other things like that. Guess who were the only two people who wrote me something? Two Indians asking me for personal details :( and they weren't even playing the game...

Hitting on someone online? Fine, I can understand that. But their lines? Do they actually think they're gonna work? Or maybe it's a compulsion? Do they act like this with Indian women as well?

Funnily enough, I was just talking to somebody about this the other day.

I think there are two main factors at play here.

1) Heavily regulated interaction between the genders in India, especially the further down the social scale you go. Outside the family, there is very little social interplay, making the opposite gender something of a mystery.

2) A naive, yet widespread, belief that porn accurately depicts the real life behaviour of western women.

An Indian guy on here told me a third vital factor a few years ago. At the time, the Government of India was having a massive drive to get the population more online. As a consequence, there were a lot of deals about, basically giving 2 years of virtually free wifi. He told me that this wouldn't continue indefinitely, and his theory was that all this shit would tail off, once it got more expensive.

I thought this seemed eminently plausible. But the overall problem won't change, without further cultural change in India, Turkey, Egypt etc. If it ever does.

I've pondered over this as well since the macabre behavior of Indian males really is widespread. I had a friend tell me that during a trip to India he was approached by a guy at the restroom who tried to offer a handy with some kind of thousand mile stare to him.

I've thought that several factors might be in play, kudos for clarifying it!

No idea but its so true.
In my country we have a bit of a sauna culture, we go naked with men and women all together.
For a while it was optional to be naked but most people did strip down but then at the sauna in my town we started getting indian guys there hanging out to stare at women. They actually solved it by telling visitors that EVERYONE had to be naked in the sauna. The indians didn't want to be naked so it fixed the problem haha.

Probably because Indian culture is one that puts the vegene on a pedestal, while at the same time, stripping women of their rights and reducing them to nothing but something which men stick their dick in and use as they see fit.

Which leads to a huge number of boys growing up with next to no co-ed activities in an effort to 'protect' women's purity and whatnot an uh... so basically, these men end up being socially incompetent with women, and seeing them as nothing but a walking pussy. I'm sure we all know how single-minded men can get when sex is on their minds. :P
