How do you calm someone down?

My boyfriend (long distance relationship) was raging on ft earlier because he kept dying in some game and i was just stuck on what to say. i told him to take a break n he just mimiced me and told me that he has nothing else to do. he kept talking ab how unlucky he's been and he kept saying fml. im his girlfriend and feel like i should be doing something but like what? he won't come off it and all his other games are 'trash'. how am i meant to make him chill? its bugging me cos I don't know what to do to help or how to get him to relax or even what to say to him?

i guess but were really close, I've told him im not letting him feel like crap alone and that imma always be here so if i just leave him im gonna feel kinda guilty

Sometime people want to get mad. Sometimes people play hard games so they can rage at them. You can't make him happy because that's not what he wants at the moment. If he genuinely wanted to be cheered up he would be more receptive to you. It's all fun when your raging at a game but if he shows anger towards you this might not be the best guy for you.

If he just rages about the game, its probably a good choice to ignore it, since we tend to get very unreasonable when games don't do things we want them to do. You can't do anything about it.

Dump him quick. Ask yourself this, if he's getting angry over a game how's he going to act when his dinner is late? He's a wifebeater in the making
