Will telling a guy "You don't look good with beard" lower his self-esteem? (Page 2)

Question

My friend always had stubble beard & it suits his calm & charming personality. Today I met him after 6 months. During the lockdown, he grew his beard too much. It doesn't suit him at all. So I told him the truth & told him to shave. He laughed & said that "it's just an experiment & I'll shave when this lockdown ends".  Well, he's my best friend & he understands that I only want good for him. But I'm just worried, did I say something wrong? Was it hurtful? How would you feel if you were in his place?

I never used to have a beard, and now I do. I like this girl, and if she told me she didn't like my beard, I'd still have no fucks to give. Because I like it. I'd only take advice or opinions to heart from people that had earned my trust.

I mean i get that, shave your beard you'd look hotter, I get told that but I really don't care, if I wanted to look more attractive I would, but I'm not trying to look attractive so lol

no you're fine. if you want, you could tell him that you felt anxious about the comment about his beard. then he will know you care for him and are considerate to his feelings.
please be open as possible and there is no reason to hide anything from anybody, especially a close friend.

I've been told the same before, but prefer a beard to hide scars from a childhood accident. Besides, I don't care if someone enjoys it or not. Shaving is painful, even with excellent prep and blade choice.

Did he out right asked you for your opinion? If he did then you shouldn't feel bad.

If you told him that when he didn't even ask for you opinion then I wouldn't be surprised if he felt some type of way.

Unless you are more than a friend to that guy, it's not your place to say something like that, clothes at most

No, because I don't look good with a beard. My facial hair is untrainable and is only good as brillo for scrubbing pots and pans. I am a realistic guy and prefer too remain clean shaven.
