Why my ex is insulting me?

So me nd my ex has been broken up for 3 months now. he was the one who broke up with me due to trust issues or fights. i did beg for him to listen me but he was sure of his decision. finally I left and started moving on by not behaving like an immature kid. i didn't block him from anywhere but I just made it sure that I would not reach out to him first. for 2 months after breakup he was the one who would reach out every then and now just to lash out or blaming or even trying to make me jealous by telling me that he has got a girlfriend. i knew he was just trying to take a rxn out of me. while I did nothing wrong it was just his own mindset. i ignored him for one full month nd a half. finally I was in better stage to talk to him so when he reached out to me again he was also seeming to b in better position nd I respond to him. he politely asked about my well being or whether I still luv him or miss him. we talked for two days. on third day he again started telling me that it was because of me that the relation didn't wrk. he was too stubborn to look at his own faults. nd again he told me that he has a girlfriend. i again stopped talking nd blocked him then he made friends with my bestfriend. nd even started telling her that how q bitch I am. may b he was sure that words would reach out to me. he even brought up a fake a girlfriend to meet me as I asked him to stop talking bullshit nd meet me if he has anything to say. then I found out he brought a fake girlfriend. nd he is even making up the fake rumours about me to my friend. nd showing himself as a warrior.
What's going on. he seemed like he has move on as he is seeming very happy on phone call which he did wid my bestie nd also posting smiling pics of him. then y is he wasting his tym to insult me.
