Why do a group of men stare?

Today I went to the supermarket and a group of guys were talking, quickly pass there was a semi-annual silence and they stared. I've already learned not to be upset, but it always generates a bit of intrigue. When women are among friends or colleagues, we do not pause because a man passes by or suddenly is in the crosshairs.
