Guy's Behavior

Is it normal for him to like me so much so soon even though we just meet not to long ago?

This guy (25) and me (18) meet on Facebook, he added me wanting to shoot his shot and we've been talking as much as we can. He lives in a different state due to the military but visits my state often do I've gotten to see him a few times and we have more plans coming up soon. We have hugged and kissed and I told him that he might have to be hidden for a little due to the fact that I needed to find a way to break it to my family. Oddly him and I connected very easily since we are similar but he also says he's excited to to meet my family and get to know me better. When I told him that I told my Nana he seemed really happy about it but I'm just wondering why and is it normal for guys to feel like this so soon?
