My friend was acting weird asf why?

So this dude and I used to be friends with benefits’s realizing I was catching feelings I asked to stop having sex. He was fine with that. I also told him why and he said he liked me just not marriage type of thing. Which I was fine with. Even told him I wasn’t expecting anything. Few months pass and we hang out again. We start talking about space and this new show he’s been watching ( I nerded out because I love space) he cuts me off and asked me to kiss him. I laughed but he was leaning forward then brushed it off quickly lol. Get to his house and he walking around with just his shirt and shorts. his roommate goes into the bathroom while we were nerding out more on the space show. Randomly again he cuts me off and says he loves me. Which again I laugh off. He’s never acted like this before, and he doesn’t say the L word lightly unless you he knows your about about to blow up from his teasing which he’s rarely done that to me. Mostly to his guy friends though. To top it off he actually hugged me where his friend could see. Never showed public affection before. Then he texted me that he got a semi from the hug and it was because he liked me and my body. I just told him I’ll take the compliment. So I’m confused
