If he has a crush could be trying to build up the courage to talk to them. Only wants to send when they are online.

Maybe he sent a message thats been ignored and now he is checking to see if he will ever get a reply. This would be the same with anyone, not gender specific.

Break up, I used to see if my ex was online a lot because I was hoping she would pop up and start talking again.

They are my best guesses without context. Seeing someone is online is just seeing that they are getting on with life, but it can be a very taunting green dot...

previously 2days ago, on Sunday, he checked like 5 times on that day to see whether I'm online or not, but however since I wasn't online ( wasn't online for a day), he stopped checking on Monday. He didn't check at all on Monday. Does it mean he lose interest?
