How should I talk to my brother about this?

My brother is 19 years old, and he plays basketball in university. About a month ago he moved back home after the season ended. We share a bathroom in the basement.

A couple of weeks after he moved back, I noticed that the floor beside the toilet is stickier, and starting to turn yellow. This would not happen if he sat down to pee. He is also bad for leaving the toilet seat up. I want to suggest to him that he should start sitting to pee but I have no idea how to start this conversation or what I would say.

Simple and direct. Don't make that conversation complicated. There is a problem, he is the cause, there is a solution. No need for more.

If I pee sitting down I don't empty out as much as I do when I'm standing. Maybe he has the same issue. Instead tell him you aren't his mother and he needs to wipe up his own pee.
