When he deletes your number and adds it back?

So we had some great time over the phone last lockdown literally we flirted a lot and we spoke for hours even though he has a girlfriend, it was almost like he double dating, in Dec or November last yr something happened between he and his girlfriend, cos of someother girl, past 4 months we haven't spoken , I texted him 1ce every month to keep a tab on his wellbeing but he ignored ghosted me, finally I told him I will be deleting his number cos I don't want to be tempted to text him back, so after he read my text he too deleted my number may not sure cos I couldn't see his dp on whatsapp after he read my text, but I deleted his number but I still can see his chat in WhatsApp so can make out, so the next day I see he added my number back or I can see his dp again , this got me confused? Can anyone really solve this for me.. and tell me if he deleted my number why add me back?

It shouldn't matter if he did or didn't add you back because he has a girlfriends. So he shouldn't have been texting with you in the first place, and you knowing that he had a girlfriend shouldn't have been entertaining those texts.

I think @Avicenna is right, he probably did it because either his girlfriend found out or he wanted to hide you from her suspiciouns.
