Do some guys not know how to express emotion in text or say what they feel through text?

Just wondering because I have a male friend who is currently dating this girl and she sent him a few longer texts saying how after her last date she felt a huge surge in emotions for him, that she feels so much more now and how it doesn’t feel real, and that she didn’t think she’d feel this strongly suddenly. And all he responded with was “I understand” and I’m like? Bro.. he tells me all the time how into her he is and how he doesn’t want to lose her but all he can say in response to her texts like that are so lack luster. Are all guys like this? Any guys wanna give insight? I’ve gotten similar response from guys I’ve dated and then I’ve also gotten overly emotional texts as well

and I’m wondering if a guy is super into a girl will he always express that through text?

I can guess most responses "I'm going to suck up to this girl, guys are expressionless!" That's bullshit and incorrect in this situation. You're creating too high of expectations. YOU suddenly feel a surge of emotion and convey it, through text... instead of calling, video call, every other option available, anyway, now you've written your saga.

You're expecting a similar saga from him, when he might be getting your text in the middle of taking a dump. Also feeling love or affection for someone does not mean an overwhelming urge to open up with the feels necessarily. Rather doing so can scare men and women off.

It's a passive aggressive way of saying "I love you, do you love me too?" Shit, my answer would be a non-answer too while I figure out what to do. Even if I do love someone, that view has changed with a manipulative action, because sending through text is pushing it that way, rather than through face to face, or over the phone conversation.

Ensuring you have a one sided declaration that demands response.

No most guys don't or don't enjoy doing so and prefer to do it in person its why most men end up being bad at texting they don't enjoy it

Plenty of people find it hard to express themselves emotionally, I know I do and I’m a girl but I’m not sensitive like that and I’d probably find it harder in person
There are plenty of ways to express feelings, doesn’t have to be a longass text or poem or whatever
