My boyfriend came over my house and locked himself in the bathroom with the lights off. Is this sketchy?

When he came out I didn’t smell poop or anything so I’m sure he wasn’t using the restroom. What could he possibly have been doing in the bathroom? He was in there with his phone so I am unsure. I asked him why were the lights off and he said “ sometimes I like to be in the dark too. “
