Is it a red flag if someone wants to know details about your life but isn't willing to share the same amount about theirs?

I talk to this guy that is really private or maybe just a dry texter so I started giving him the same energy back, when he asks about my day I say "alright how was yours?" And 9/10 he will try to learn every single thing I've done that day meanwhile if I ask what he did that day he will either say work or ran some errands moving topic quickly.

My question is why does he want to know so much about me when he isn't willing to share the same about himself? Is this a red flag?

Yes and no. If they are very extroverted then it might be. However if they are introverted then maybe no so much.

Yes, you need to be honest and straightforward with him about yourself, because he has the right to know what he's signing up for. But you have that right too, and he needs to be just as honest and just as straightforward with you about himself as he expects you to be; if he is not recognising this, the two of you are incompatible and your relationship unhealthy.
