I've been really down and upset this evening. I've been crying my eyes out because I feel like a failure.

I text my ex (we're taking things slow) he was out with friends and doesn't have Internet when he's out so knew he wouldn't recieve my messages.

But the messages went like this.

Me- I'm really upset and down this evening, been crying. I feel like a failure. Wish you were here for me right now

After an hour or so

Him - what you feeling like that for silly? Hope you're ok xxxx

Correct me if im wrong but wouldn't a man put a little more effort in if he was concerned? He hasn't tried calling me... so there's no sense of urgency to find out my wellbeing

I don't know what type of personality your ex has , because my ex could not be bothered if I was feeling down , let alone text me back. And over text it's hard to decipher the emotion , men also dont really know how to deal with emotion. I think he does care but possibly maybe not trying to overstep the boundaries set as you stated that you guys are taking things slow.

We were together for 8 months.
Split up in April (day after my birthday)
Then he said he wanted to work on us and take things slow while we both work on our individual issues

I have in the past but I've got better. I'd start with asking why you feel like a failure. Then make you see that you are being hard on yourself
