Guy's Behavior

Why did this guy have to dog me out this way? did I do something wrong?

So a guy I was Facebook friends with for about a year just sat on my friends list. He didn't say anything or like anything so I thought he was a creep and tried to get rid of him lol. Anyway he came back again and basically told me he was interested in getting to know now that he was out of his relationship. So we would chat, but it was usually all about him and it took him 2-4 days to respond to my messages and when we did it was a one word answer. So I would call him out and this behavior because I knew it was rude no matter how hard he tried to excuse it. He would make excuses and I would forgive him and eventually we met up and hung out in person. Afterward, I sent him a message and he blocked me on all platforms, except Instagram. I asked him why he would block me with a warning and he basically called me a catfish and said I turned him off by not wanting to walk a track in 100 degree weather. His reasons for blocking me seemed so shallow and I was very hurt by this. I just don't get why pursue someone so hard to get their attention and treat them like trash then get them to hang out and still treat them like trash. like what was the point? I shouldn't be this hurt over basically a stranger, but it stings.
