How to help my boyfriend after he was hurt?

He was playing soccer and he got hit by the ball between the legs.
He tried to keep playing but it really weakened him and he ended up falling to the floor. The game had to be stopped and he had to be helped to get carted off the field.
He said it was embarrassing in front of everyone. He thinks everyone will now see him as a wimp.
I don't get that but I said he is not and everyone knows it hurts a lot for guys but he said I can't understand...

Thank you all, I tried all you tips and he is fine now. It seems some people still mentioned it the other day, most of them were sorry he had to be carted off the field but he said some teased him. When he told me, I made him laugh about it, so good news

The other wrestler was underneath sort of on his stomach and swung his heel up pretty hard into the balls. My man is big down there and I saw them bounce around from the impact 😭.
He tried so hard to fight it for a few seconds but I could see the way his package was forced to move from the impact that it really hurt him. After the impact for a few seconds he tried to fight through it and I saw his package jiggling around from it but he was overcome with pain after awhile and rolled off and went to the mat massaging his precious package groaning :((


Luckily he recovered after a few minutes but elected not to continue with the match and walked off slowly. I saw him sit on the bench with his legs spread and an ice back between them a little later on and I walked over. He was ok physically I could tell he was embarrassed having that happen in such revealing attire to the his manhood in front of that many people.


My boyfriend is 6’4 and 197 lbs has abs and everything I thought he looked so tough during and before the match in his revealing attire his figure in the singlet was so hot. It was so sad to see him be hurt like that. :((


When he got home I massaged around the area and inspected it luckily he looked ok but I could tell he felt insecure about it. Later I joked with him that he only went down Bc his manhood was so big. I think he liked that. Some guys make a bigger deal out of it than others but I can understand for some guys it’s a really big insecurity and guys are expected to be tough. He has a big package though so it’s really not his fault I told hin that even though he has vunerabiltiies that he still looks really sexy, tough and masculine in his singlet. Make sure too reassure your man too.

I think it was an accident. Random heels and stuff happen in that sport but who knows. It’s ok he was fine afterwords it just brought him down for awhile but after a few minutes he was mostly ok no long lasting pain.

Is your boyfriend feeling better? I think he should realize that just because he has a weak spot doesn’t mean he isn’t tough or unmasculine. Everyone has sensitive areas and thats ok. Guys bodies would be so boring if there weren’t sensitive areas. I think guys should realize this and be proud of their body including the sensitive spots. My boyfriend looks so tough and strong even when he is naked or in his singlet. The junk doesn’t take away from that. Luckily I think my boyfriend realizes this and he isn’t too insecure about it. He is mostly very confident in his entire body and embraces his sensitivity.

Although we may not be able to understand that specific pain, my advice is just give him a hug and some things that he loves - show that you're there for him and he's going to be okay! Most importantly, do your best to be as positive and reassuring, while reminding him that you won't ever see him as a "wimp".

I'm trying to comfort him. Of course we can't relate to the pain but it is pretty obvious that it is really high.
I felt bad when I saw him trying hard to fight the pain and I was worried when I saw that he finally couldn't handle it but I didn't think at all that he was being a "wimp".

He is physically ok. He says he believes me when I say he is not weak because it is normal to feel pain. I told him everyone understood he felt great pain and all guys'd have reacted the same. But he is still not comfortable with what happened

That is a very stupid male thing, very related to the "man up" expression: if we show we are hurt, we are weak. There isn't much you can do besides showing him your support like you have been doing. He has to see that other men do not treat him any different or even care to understand that not only it is not important but very normal to be hurt by that and he should not be embarrassed.

It depends on the pain threshold of each one and how hard we are hit. I believe your boyfriend was hit very hard and his threshold is on the low side, that is why he was so badly affected by the hit that he couldn't even stand up. As you very well say, that doesn't mean you are weak because it is obvious it hurts a lot. The testicles are literally organs that hang outside the body. It would be a fair comparison to say it is like being hit directly on the eyeball, the heart or a kidney, without any bone, muscle or skin to protect it. Any "tough guy" would be crying on the ground.
The problem is not that fact, everybody can easily realize that with a bit of thinking. It is that many boys are yet still taught that we must be tough, not show when we are hurt. Never cry, not even when our mother dies, among other things. If we do, we are not a "man". It is stupid as F.
Thankfully, some outgrow that idiocy. Others aren't that lucky.

Thank you for explanation. I think you're right. The fact that he couldn't go out by himself may have greatly impacted him. I didn't realized that because when I understood he couldn't handle the pain I was worried about him.
I get he showed everyone he was unable to do something because of the pain but I think no one cares. But maybe as you said I'm wrong and it is hard for guys to accept that.

That is up to you, if course. You know him better than the rest of us do. It is hard enough to try to understand "he is no less a man" just because he couldn't stand up after being hit in the balls to also add the threshold thing.
Just let him know that he had my support as well. Maybe that will help, if just a little.

I teach sports and I can tell accidents happen quite often. Obviously as a girl I'll not pretend to know how it feels to be hit in the testicles but in my experience it is common that it immobilizes the victim for a few minutes.
And some guys ego can be really fragile so they don't like to admit that the pain in the testicles is so high that they have to patiently wait on the floor it goes away. You need to push his ego up and he'll be fine

Yes exactly. I told him any guy would have feel great pain in the same situation. I think he feels weak compared to other guys because he was unable to stand up for more than a few minutes. I'll reassure him again

Obviously you can't compare pain, everyone is different. Your boyfriend may have a lower pain tolerance, it doesn't mean he is a wimp. As I said it is really common to be immobilized from being hit to the testicles, you are not going to time it... Your boyfriend was hit to the testicles, he couldn't stand up for a while. However, it seems that his manhood took a hit not only literally. All his friends saw him taken off the field with his manhood bruised. After his testicles recover (this may take between a few hours and a few days), make sure you make him feel like a man. You know how.

Yes, a trainer came onto the field when she saw he couldn't stand up anymore and used a cold spray. Not sure but I'd say it didn't really help.
Fortunately he is now physically ok. I'd have tried your idea but I was afraid to hurt him.

A man's ego when getting hit in the ball's hurts more especially if hit by girl older but especially if she is younger so he shouldn't be to embarrassed because I'm sure the other guy's if they are teasing him more than likely ended up in the same position 😕 And don't be afraid to hurt him especially when doing fun in the bedroom unless he is a guy that is really sensetive maybe the only way to toughen his balls up are by hitting them but start off lightly and then harder.
