I don't know if the Internet is responsible, but the sedentary lifestyle certainly isn't helping things.
Yes we are becoming a nation of wimps and simps.
Thanks for MHO!

Maybe they are not being hunt down or shamed for it these days? Just take homosexuality. Coming out used to be a big deal. It is not anymore. In the past, people who were different just tried to look like everybody else in order to not be judged, or worse. Now that it is increasingly accepted to be and look different, people who are different are increasingly becoming themselves. Don't worry, you'll see, at some point it will saturate. And then you will all be able to breathe calmly realizing there are still "real guys" left around.
@hahahmm
you blocked me? Want to have the last word much?
are you kidding me? A POLL? You call that a serious study? A poll is asking random people what they think. Besides nothing in there talks about your particular viewpoint about masculinity being "at risk" and so "civilization" being at risk. Besides, the people seeing a decline include lots of democrats and they think so for reasons clearly much different than yours. Also an American-centric poll. "Civilization" is not just the US... And I mean, take out the pandemic and the 2008 recession where the stock exchange acted like dicks, and the economy is doing very well pretty much everywhere. And where there are particular economic challenges, not having enough "masculine men to do masculine jobs" is usually not an issue. Heck, the limiting factor is probably government spending! I mean, have you ever heard of such an issue? I don't think so. And think about it: about 1% of the US population is in prisons and most of them are men, and not the feminine types. That's plenty of people to do "masculine jobs".
Yes and no. The mass media in general is trying to make men more feminine and that has been going on for eons but it used to be just the music industry and now it has spread to movies and tv in the last 20 years but it's getting worse and worse. They're also trying to make women more masculine in some ways. The media is only able to brainwash people because there's not enough real leaders out there (in families/neighborhoods) to be good role models.
Why is this important? Whatever floats your boat man. You don't like masculine girls? Don't date them. Simple. People are different and we don't have to all fit the same mould.
@spearheadbt It's not women or feminine males maintaining the infrastructure of civilization or building it. The foundations of everything requires masculine guys taking risks and doing unpleasant tasks to keep the water running, the electricity flowing, the buildings being built, bridges maintained, air conditioning going and so on. If to many people focus on gratifying themselves only with no thought for the long term, one day we'll suddenly not have a viable civilization and it will all crash and burn. But, I get it. People like you can't be bothered to think of the big picture.
@hahahmm You don't "become" feminine, you are. People are born different, we are not blank slates to be modified as wished. There is different people, you got guys maintaining infrastructure and then you have guys not doing it. By the way, there ARE women doing this kind of work, just not a lot. There's absolutely no risk of any of that changing. If anything, things are going to be increasingly robotized and people might be out of these manual jobs. And gratifying themselves? What are you even on. The thing is, people as a whole are not changing, what is happening is that there is increasing spotlight of people who are different. They always were there, just invisible. Sounds like you are insecure because there are guys who are not justifying your way of life by being different. People not being like you feels like they don't understand how cool you are or something. You're really looking at a big non-issue. Our civilization will all crash and burn because all the guys turned feminine and don't want to do construction work. Yeah right... give me ONE reference of this phenomena happening.
@spearheadbt Of course people are changing. People's behavior is shaped by the culture they partake in. Otherwise women would be behaving 100% like they did 80 years ago, for example. Let me know when you have something to say that makes sense.
@hahahmm but their genetics don't change. Obviously society shapes people, but up to a certain point. Like I said, we are not blank slates which you can simply educate as you wish. That's what social constructivists and socialists (who are the former) get it all wrong. They assume you can just rewire everybody into a decent human being, enabling you to reach an utopia. It doesn't work that way. We are in big part determined by biology and the rest by society (which itself is partly determined by biology because it is set up by human beings).
You can't turn people gay (at least we are not able to rewire a person's brain just yet), and you can't turn people into something they are not. You must also remember that you were not there in the too distant past. How people lived their lives at home? Lots of people acted against their very nature, so they could fit within what society asked them to. Nowadays, it's the opposite that is happening, society *lets* people be themselves. And you'll get people who explore. But they explore because they are like that, they like exploring. You *definitely* can't turn is super masculine guy into a feminine one unless by force. That's just nonsense.
Of course women acted in a different way in the past; they were forced to. And when you have a different game, people will behave differently. But it won't change their fundamental self. By the way, insults are not arguments. I'll take that as a compliment; it means you feel insecure in your own arguments. Indeed, they are not very strong. You still didn't give me a reference.
@spearheadbt And, I am one of those who wants civilization to be healthy based on past experiences that worked. Not one of those who is eager to experiment with things our ancestors never endorsed which is doing a social experiment that could have serious consequences for future generations. Of course if you focus on doing what feels good for yourself you won't care about how it could impact the bigger picture.
@hahahmm but it's just not impacting the "bigger picture". Got any proof to back it up? Studies? Other than what happens not being what *you* personally would like it to be? With your weird version of masculinity (personally I don't think it is very masculine to whine about what other people feel like being). Grow up, not everyone wants to be like you or accepts your own vision of life. And that's normal, like you probably don't agree with mine. I won't loose sleep over that and come up with imaginary problems to make me feel better about it.
@spearheadbt The vast majority of people know that society is in decline. You must be one of the slow ones. www.pewresearch.org/.../ --- I'm done talking to you now. Lazy people don't get why their actions matter.
The second picture of the guy washing his face…I don’t think that’s being “feminine”
That’s simply taking care of your hygiene.
Can we normalize men having a skin care routine without labeling them as “feminine” or “gay” (nothing wrong with being feminine or gay) but saying it to the people who use those words as insults.
For me, caring for countenance is important. It is also part of body and a very important, representative one.
Your opinion that man should look ugly and do not care for looks is not an universal truth. In Europe men cared for their faces and body and fashion for centuries. Look at man form antiquity or for example 16th-19th century (especially 18th century). It was after two world wars that this became unnatural probably because hard time that it was.
Nowadays, we have a time where many things are prohibited for men, by people like you. I already heard that drinking tea is unmanly, despite that gentlemen in the past had no problems with it. I just wait when literature and education will be banned for men as being too feminine.
... you mean the same tech that gives us COD, Battlefield, Fortnite, and PUBG?
I agree with the fact that more and more men are embracing the feminine and the chaotic, and I am all here for it. Men are allowed to dress and be as feminine and as chaotic as they like. They're all valid.
But is it because of tech? Nah.
Is it because tech allows us to realize we have been conditioned to think of certain things in certain ways? Maybe. Is it because tech has allowed us to find, create, and exist in communities which are supportive (if you find em)? Perhaps. Is it because tech shows us others lives and allows us to realize we can self-determine? Who knows.
I just know I'm here for all my guys who want to embody chaos and embrace their feminine side. The men of my life have been supportive and I am excited to support them in turn.
I care about the person and the substance of who they are, not what gender they identify as or how they choose to express it.
Someone with a genuine soul impresses me, not societal expectation.
I'll date a feminine man or a butch woman or anywhere in between or outside. So long as the connection is genuine, the love flows, and we laugh.
I think that men like to blame the internet when in reality it was their own weak character which allowed the internet to make them weaker. Better to point fingers than take responsibility, and why not the internet? Why not women? It's easy and saves the ego, which we all know is exceedingly fragile in males.
Not all men, just the ones with weak character
No. You need to come into the 21st century kiddo.
Men have hair and skin that needs looked after too - just like women do.
You must be of the dipshit mind back in the 50's. Where dying of preventable diseases and having no hygiene or self respect was a "manly" thing to do.
no, pretty sure women who wanted men to be more female so they can have more "rights" were the reason.
Not particularly.
Hormones in our food probably are. Modern lifestyle. Culture.
Whether or not someone has long braided hair or wears makeup isn't really important. Plenty of warrior castes in history have had long hair or worn makeup. Masculinity isn't defined by hair length.
Absolutely not just with trends or fads. Think about it all time low in men and low testosterone levels. Think about where you carry your phones all the time boys. Cooking your twig and berries. Duh... Im just a dumb manly hillbilly send your old ladies my way if they ever need a spanking 😉
Not entirely; the far left elitists are doing that. But social media is certainly exacerbating the problem.
I’m still a “masculine” guy, so got to say no.
Really TBH this sounds like something Alex Jones would rant about alongside his gay frogs.
No, a manly man will stay manly no matter what he sees on the internet or on TV. It's not because I'm going to see a kangaroo on the internet that I'm going to become a kangaroo myself
That picture hurts my head. Feminism makes men feminine. And weak men that can’t step up and claim their masculinity.
Men aren't supposed to be anything, they can be who they want to be and you can stfu.
There's rock and roll bands that have long hair, wear makeup, tight outfits, etc...
Nobody said anything about them so I don't see the problem here.
I don't think the internet is necessarily to blame, - maybe that it's now more accepted.
Considering that men are 50% female, this should be no surprise.
Nothing to do with technology, but us as western society having reached maximum decadence and lack of hardships.
It helps them embrace their feminine side, but doesn't make them anything other than themselves.
Men are not supposed to be feminine, women are disgusted by guys who are like that
If that's true it's messing with my head, i thought women were attracted to macho men, badasses that can fight anyone.
I see, I'm glad to hear that because we cry too and feel sad etc 🥺
True, bottom line is that both men and women are human
That and the older generation of men dont hold them to the standards of manhood.
Who cares about standards? I'll do whatever I want. (this coming from a rather masculine guy, but I'm the way I am because I want it so, not because I'm being told to)
@spearheadbt well you can do whatever you want, that's not my point.
Hahaha would be nice if they would also hold women to some standards. Seriously why do you care how other men are? Doesn't it benefit you since you are now the only manly one left?
Yes it creates a unigender. Man with pussies and women with dicks. End of humanity. Cause they do not procreate much these confused individuals.
The internet itself, no. But the trend does. Same goes with women becoming "masculine and chaotic"
So why are you telling me? How about you look at the question? I'm just arguing at your level
Then same goes with women becoming "masculine/chaotic" But really, of all the population, it's impossible to say no one is both. So you're assuming things
I can see it being used to but no, it’s not the source. Do you think standing under a Dino Dong would help?🦖🍆
tech has little to do with it its more the culture and the Gov
I put hydrating cream in my face and hair conditioner. I look better thanks to them.
As long as we don't put on a dress, lots of makeup, use a purse or similar we are fine.
I wouldn't blame tech. The gradual pussification of men has been in play for quite awhile now. The solution is simple though. . .
MAN UP!!!
I think internet is an influence for this.
Noooooo , things on TV or internet won't change your nature
Nah. And even if they are feminine thats not bad feminine guys look pretty
Yeah pretty but you probably would never date one 🤣
I would
But he's not macho or Alpha
Yes and boy howdy is it super nice to see!!
Nope!
What's wrong with being feminine? 😅😂
the internet is making me a gamer--thus chaotic.
Yes disgusting
What does that mean? Chaotic?
I'm sure thats partly it.
No.
