First many will quote a decrease in handiness. This is true but the reason is primarily how work has changed. We have become more specialized and as a result are giving up knowlesgr about fields outside our own. Almost any professional of today would blow their equivalent at the same age from our grandparents age out of the water if stacked against each other. Including the masculine jobs.
Second is social rules and norms. It is entirely fair to say we live in a women's world today and most of us have for our whole lives. While it is a relatively new phenomena it comes with strengths and weaknesses we are not historically accustomed to. Of course men adjusting ourselves to better accommodate women's norms will seem feminine. But it speaks of our human ability to adapt most of all. And it isn't as if we never hang with other men.
Historically which gender was more caring, emotional and sensitive has always been up for debate. Women have been depicted as cold and logical, absent feelings and solely focused on their own agenda many times in history while men were praised for being in touch with their emotions, poetry, love and so on. Our norms do not neccessarily say anything about other societies.
Third, well, the claim there is more estrogen in our water now is true. This is on you, women. But the notion it would somehow emasculate our population is silly. There is a significant amount in garlic too.
Aaand just to make a more succint point: Men have lost many masuline traits. It is generally for reasons completely removed from gender. Some things we do are dictated by society and not really up to us. And as a personal guess I mostly hear this line from women wanting men to be more assertive in dating, which is great and all but the way to accomplish that is to encourage it, not complain that their grandparents would not have cared about your comfort and just tried.10 Reply

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yYes, feminism has influenced both sexes to abandon their true nature. It has waged war on masculinity in men, but encourages it in women. The ONLY time feminism encourages masculinity is in women. Boys are bombarded with messages from a very young age that they are bad because they were born with a penis, that masculinity is toxic and testosterone is poison. How can that not affect the men they become?
And of course it is becoming almost impossible to find a woman who has any feminine character at all anymore.
This really should come as no surprise to anyone.

Yes, because that is the political agenda. If you want to change society then it makes sense to marginalize the groups of people and paradigms that built it in the first place. I. e. White men, capitalism, Conservatives, Right-wing etc. The problem is that: Is it sustainable? You can only push society away from certain truths so far... it seems obvious to me women and men aren't as attracted to each other as they were in the 50s for example.

+1 yNope. They still have the ridiculous buzzcut, cherish their misogynistic hypothesis, mansplain whenever they can, play the nice guy card, think pink is womanly colour, most are homophobic by default... They're very masculine I'd say.

1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes, for many reasons. We are run by a gynocentric elite, the educational system discourages masculine traits, there is xenoestrogen contamination in our food and environment, and the typical American eats more soy than people in Asia who are adapted to it.

+1 yNo. People are just more obsessed over it these days for some reason, without having a solid grasp on what those words actually mean. "Masculine" and "feminine" rely entirely upon tradition. But traditions change over time and differ between cultures. Being that we're becoming more of a global society, cultures are blending and old traditions simply no longer apply in many of these cases.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yNo, I dont. They are more feminine. Men and women are always chronically stressed due to a lack of interaction with nature. In the past, people would run around more and just enjoy simple things like lying around in the grass. But now everyone is stressed about paying for Netflix.
Too much staying indoors and sitting in front of a computer. People's mental health is going down the drain. And it's not any gender's fault.

+1 yYea, because women demanded it. They also divorced a lot because they got jealous of other women pretending to be happier then them and kids stay with the mom so that's probably another reason men are more feminine, because our society is essentially built right now to make being a man almost illegal.

+1 yDang this is a doozy. Lol! Love it though! Unfortunitly I do think todays men have become less masculine by social expectations and restrictions however there is also this strange social freedom that I think has also confused the issue. Freedoms allowing woman to be more opinionated and confronting that also allows men to be more “in touch with their feminine side”. I don’t think the freedoms is bad just the restrictions that stop men from being as masculine as they should be.

+1 yGenetically there's no reason for men having changed in a few centuries. The differences are the customs of our era, and the fact many men do not want to pretend what they are not. Although still not easy at all, gay men for instance dare a little more showing themselves as they feel. Always keep in mind that in every man there's a feminine part which is generally rejected by religions, education and traditional values.

+1 yIf with "becoming more feminine" you mean that we don't want to keep up with society's BULLSHITS and "expectations" anymore (or at least more of them) because we see most of them as stupid and we also deem that they are not worth as even if we keep up, we're unappreciated and even get shit on, then yes! Men are becoming more feminine.
And I personally couldn't be more happier!

+1 yIt does happen. Because of soy. Because of chemicals in the food and water. I don’t judge them. They don’t know better. Even I’m probably more feminine then I should be.
But. It happens and over feminizes women.

Your example is as stupid as yourself!
Yes, I think so.
because society has suddenly decided to equalize everything that made the difference between men and women evaporate.
To the extent of removing genitals.

+1 yYes, because a majority of children are raised by single women and do not have a male role model. Not placing blame on men or women just stating the reason. Hard times produce strong men, strong men produce good times, good times produce weak men, weak men produce hard times.
00 Reply3.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes especially the single Mom raised kids. The Media inundating public. Chop it off and be a girl…really ⁉️

+1 yProbably because masculine traits are being demonized constantly in media and educational institutions.
That and the prevailing social conditions devalue men and lead to children without good male role models.10 Reply- 1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 ySure. Depends on what your definition of masculinity is. There isn’t a hard and fast rule for that. It’s subjective in almost all cases. Especially to women. But men have no idea either. So whatever you think is masculine and you think men aren’t doing it, then of course you would think they are becoming more feminine

+1 yI think a lot of it is society. The whole "toxic masculinity" thing. The fact that acting like "a man" or being masculine is considered bad by main stream.
12 Reply- +1 y
Yeah. Also they don’t think there is toxic femininity when there are some women who are nothing BUT toxic and traits that can be in a man but mostly women.
The same as there is some aggressive behaviors in some males that some women also can display that is mostly a man thing. - +1 y
I don’t understand it

+1 yYes, because being a wuss is being normalised. Sure, we are humans, feeling the feelings is only natural for us. But the way society is justifying everything is resulting in such things becoming prevalent.
