I have a guy chatmate, we were school mates before but we are now both mid 30s. I am confused because he is very caring and protective of me. We were arguing and I told him what I want and asked him what He wants. He said he wants what I want. Even if we had arguements he doesn’t stop messaging me. Our common friend told me that he was a player back then.

I think he has no intentions of letting you stay away from him no matter what the situation is. He can't let you go and he is determined to be clingy to you. That might be because he has feelings for you or he really cherish you as a friend and that's the thing you should figure out by watching over him. He is deployed in different country and he is very eager to meet me when his contracts end. I observed that when ever I have problem or I need help he makes sure that he is talking to me even though he is at work.
