I'm confused. These past few months we've been flirtatiously joking around with each other over text but lately it's been getting very sexual, it's like we're sexting by now. We talk about the things we want to do to each other (sexual things) and he jokes around about how "hard" he gets thinking about me. We don't like each other in the romantic way, (I know that because he tells me), I don't like him romantically either, I just kind of crave him for sex.

But, when I ask him if he's joking or not, he says he is, and that he isn't ready to do "it" yet. When he asks if I'm joking, I say I am (though I'm not), and he's like "good, I don't want it to seem like I'm leading you on". It's confusing, he makes it seem so real when we are sexting, but then he says things like that.

This sounds like a shy guy who lacks confidence. He is expressing his feelings in the guise of "joking" but he really wants what he is talking about. When you ask him if he is joking around, he is not ready to confess his true desire and then you tell him you are joking, too, and that just reinforces his fear of expressing his true desire.

I wouldn't be surprised if you two started dating and actually developed a relationship.

Heck yes he want to screw your brains out. He is afraid that if he does go ahead it will destroy your friendship and he wants you as his friend and will do anything to keep you as his friend. Tell him you want to try the Friend with Benefits at least once and see what happens. tell him if it doesn't work you will still be his friend for life.

I think he sees you as his 2nd or 3rd option. His 1st and 2nd options probably shut him down recently and acting flirty with you is helping him maintain his ego.

This really pisses me off and as a man he should know better. He should know how unfair and insulting it is when women do this to us. He’s being a hypocrite. Either that he’s gay and considering going straight.
