Not necessarily. Part of it is how we're raised. The average guy has at least one time in his life put a girl on a pedestal. Societal conditioning reinforces that idea.

Like when a guy says he's "lucky" to have a particular girl, that behavior receives positive responses. That behavior is rewarded. Sitcoms oftentimes have male figures who more or less are simps.

a lot of guys the majority of their male role models if they have many to begin with don't have positive male/female relationships where they saw a guy not being that way.

Additionally, if a guy wasn't putting a girl on a pedestal. Treating her like a person who has her own faults that she needs to work on. Oftentimes the guy is labeled an asshole. Because how dare he hold a girl to a higher standard of behavior.

That's a lot of reinforcement for a certain kind of behavior. That's why so many guys put up with BS behavior. Or think of girls in general as angels. Or constantly give girls excuses for bad behavior.
