I mean that i thought his flirting meant he liked me or meant what he said because i value social relationships higher because i have no social life outside work.

He on the other hand has a social life outside work, so he doesn't think anything about flirting while having no genuine intentions for me. To him, flirting is menaingless time passing.

Oh i didn't reallu know that. Thought they would flirt to get just sex too. And i do sense he likes me but i am not sure why he would spend a year flirting and he has a girlfriend too by the way and not pursue me seriously.

A guy just looking for sex would pursue you immediately, he wouldn't waste time and if he is unsuccessful getting his way, he would move on quickly.

Obviously your situation is complicated, he isn't available/single, and he may not be sure if you like him the same way, and isn't giving up his current relationship.
