In short, yes, many of them do feel guilty about it, once they have admitted to themselves that they did something horrible. The key is admitting that they did rape. Once they have admitted about it, it is because they feel guilt, and they reason with themselves and come with the realization that they did something messed up. The fact is that rape is so messed up, that people who have raped forcefully ignore the ramifications of trauma it causes. Many who do rape, do it to someone who doesn't know better or to a person in an altered state, so the victims do not suffer any type of trauma. Sometimes the victims never know they were raped, and live the rest of their lives okay, sometimes, they do realize they were, but really do not suffer the same type of trauma as those that were very much aware and very much feeling it.

In your case, I don't think he understands because he is self-centered. They think about themselves and not for those they hurt.

That all being said, men have come to accept that they have raped, and it was very wrong. There is a tremendous amount of shame for those that rape. This shame is very counter-productive, because it causes them to go into hiding from the truth and makes it harder to rehabilitate them. It is however, rehabilitatable, very rehabilitatable in most people.

First, the vast majority of men don't rape. Of the few who do, I would say that most of them just don't CARE. Part of what makes them rapists is that they are selfish, self-centered, and feel entitled to do whatever they want. I would guess that many of those guys have rarely/never been told "no" - so they were taught to be entitled, usually by their parents.

It's horrible that some guys do that - it gives us all a bad name - but, yeah, it's mostly entitlement and being self-centered. Obviously, some of those men are out-and-out criminals, with rape being just one of many crimes that they routinely commit.

The personal, emotional, physical and mental trauma rape puts people through is tough enough on a person, but then to hear that some men say that "yeah I want a woman to rape me" is disturbing and those that say that just show the ignorance and lack of maturity they have.

Please don't group all men in the catagory of being callous to rape victims or being the monsters that commit the ultimate human violation. People that rape don't care about how much they hurt, they only care about feeding the need to feel superior or or have the need to show the victim how much of a man/woman they are when fact they couldn't be any farther from being a man/woman.

Most rapist don't care about the victims at all. They just wanna get off. Also all guys don;t want to be rape. No one wants to be raped. Just cause people say it doesn;t make it true.
