I do believe a lot of people that claim to be rape victims weren't actually raped and they make it harder for real rape victims to be believed. I date a girl once who broke up with me, claiming she was raped by another guy, and couldn't be with me anymore because she didn't trust guys anymore. A month later, I discovered she lied about the whole thing. What really happened was she cheated on me, was ashamed, and made up the whole rape story.
I also believe that people go too far when they claim they're raped. I knew a girl once, a narcissist, who claimed her boyfriend raped her when nothing of the sorts happened. The guy was getting ready to go to jail for 3 years when she finally confessed, she made the whole thing up because she was mad at him for not wanting to marry her. If the two adults are consenting, it's not rape.
I hear all kinds of stories about if a guy ejaculates inside the girl without telling her, it's considered rape. It's definitely an asshole thing to do, but rape is when the other party doesn't agree to sexual intercourse.
... and I think because of things like this, real rape victims, rape victims who were held down, clothes ripped off, and forced to engage in sexual acts against their will, I believe it makes it harder for people to take them seriously.

No, or more precisely, accusations that turned out to be likely false shoud not have any impact at all on any other cases.
The stated logic is roughly "if fewer fasle rape accusations were made, people would be less likely to believe a true rape accusation." But if you consider that, due to the nature of the crime, rape accusations often can't be proven true or false, it turns in to "if fewer rape accusations were revealed to be false, people would be less likely to not believe a true rape accusation." Clearly, that is not a desirable goal because it could be achieved by skipping investigations and just assuming guilt. It would then turn into "if we always assume all accusations to be true, people would never not believe a true rape accusation." Of course, that would mean a lot of innocent people would have their lives ruined.
So in the end, it shouldn't matter how many accusations are revealed to be false; even if the number is zero, we must strongly consider the possibility that an accused person is innocent until proven otherwise. (At least in the eyes of the law and in the court of public opinion. If your friend says she was raped, you better believe her unless you have reason to doubt her.)
As a child rape victim you can't come out and tell your family what happened because of false rape victims. They're going to questioning the credibility of the story and ask a question (s) every silent rape victim gets "why didn't you tell anynone" "why didn't you come out sooner". People who scream false rape should be jailed because they are wasting state resources and ruining lives.
I agree. These false accusers should face jail time and big fines. I'm sure too much of this goes on, and some recourse for their actions might bring it to a halt. That being said, I'm sure a lot of these women are not thinking about that when they make the claims.

No I don't believe the cry wolf victims make it harder for the real victims. The problem is, rape itself is a very crime to prove. Plus many rape victims come out too late, which leaves no evidence to prove it.
Women need to come out more and go straight to the police, if they have been raped, I know its a very thing to do.
I personally there needs to be more support for rape victims.
You, ad a man, are more likely to be raped yourself than you are to be falsely accused of rape. And yet you aren't worried about that. The reason why is the media you watch keeps pushing the latter in front of you because they have an ulterior agenda.
very much so. a lot of women immediately resort to claiming a man sexually assaulted her if he breaks up with her, rejects her, looks at her wrong etc. as a result rape accusations are having less and less effect. it is the same thing going on with ethnic bias. so many people are immediately going "oh you're discriminating against me because I am (insert ethnicity)" these false claims are massively diluting what is (when it happens) a massive problem
As a forensic scientist I have on a few occasions had to investigate and analyse some very upsetting and disturbing rape allegations... However on the very rare occasion the rape allegation has been proved to be totally false and fabricated, resulting in successful prosecution.
In these awful cases the real victim is the one accused of these heinous crimes, sometimes having to take the stand in court, and regrettably having their names published.
They also tie up police time and resources. But because the prosecution won't take it as far as court unless there's considerable evidence I think it's reasonable to say a rape did take place if it ever gets that far and at that stage most men who walk free aren't innocent.
Sure, to an extent it does. I do think people are less likely to not believe due to the off chance it actually happened. Overall, it's a hard crime to prove.
As for falsely claiming rape, I do think it would be hard to prove that as well, but there should definitely be a harsh punishment for it. At least if it's proven that the intent was there to lie instead of a misunderstanding or something along those lines.Yes but I also think that a major factor is that rape is a very difficult thing to prove usually at most they can prove that a sex act maybe took place from dna but not if it was consensual so it comes down to her word against his.
Yes! They ought to have to serve a sentence! You donāt lie about something so horrible and something that can really wreck someoneās career, image and life.
I bel it definitely makes people a little more cautious to believe someb, but I highly doubt it's making it harder for actual victims.. Mainly because people still take rape very seriously (mainly in the case of men assaulting women), and people (mainly men) still end up loosing everything if they are even accused.. And then there's hardly any penalty for false accusers.. So they will feel empowered to continue to do so..
No because they are extremely uncommon, the few cases of false accusations are just over represented in the news for outrage bait
They absolutely do, and when the self-righteous man-hating feminists in the #metoo movement demanded that we believe all women regardless of evidence or due process they opened the door for deranged women like Amber Heard to utterly discredit their movement and women in general. Now I will not believe a woman's accusations unless they have actual proof or I know her personally.
I understand that for a woman to press charges. That in a court of law. The woman is pretty much raped again during the proceedings.
But on the flip side. The accused Life is prettied much ruined. Even when no rape occurred.
So, hopefully women have higher standards than to falsely accuse men of something that they didnāt do.Yes.. of course.
Not only that though they also destroy lives. Who ever they are accusing probably will find it impossible to get a job after that.
In my opinion if the woman if found to be lying then she should be charged instead.I donāt think it makes it any more difficult for actual victims who come forward. If anything the false accusations make the victims of those lies go through hell. Sometimes they never truly get their lives back. No matter how much news gets out they are innocent, there is always people talking about how they āknow the person really did it.ā Itās almost like back in the days of the witch trials, no matter what the person accused is done for.
YES, they do. And not only that, but proven false accusations of rape deserve jail time, or better yet, that the perp suffer a REAL rape, perhaps from a good behavior inmate.
Rapists wouldn't be able to get away with the "no one will believe you" line if it weren't for false accusers making real victims have a harder time seeming credible.
Yes, false rape accusations can set the movement back decades, if lucky, generally more.
Yes, people won't believe them after some time if they keep continuing their shenanigans.
It's definitely disrespectful to real victims. Women need to stop doing that shit for a bunch of reasons.
Yes they do, makes it so there is doubt for real victims.
