Guy who seemed interested hasn’t replied in a couple of weeks and I’m unsure about what to do next?

First of all, this is a guy with social anxiety. He approached me a couple of months ago and was very clear about how he’s bad at texting from the get-go. He always got into detail about the reasons as to why he replies late, what makes him busy and would text me saying that he got busy with etc and would reply when gets back home sometimes.

When we do have conversations though, that consists of each one of us sending around fifteen minutes of voice notes and asking questions. He’s always quite engaging and keeps the conversation going. Even double-texts at times and gets in detail about his life.

Last time we talked, he was telling me about how his social anxiety has been acting up lately and how he tried getting more in contact with some distant friends but it hasn’t been working out well, and went more into detail for around ten more minutes. Then I replied, and a day later he replied to half of what I said and then… disappeared?

It’s been a couple of weeks now. If he’s ghosting, then this is a very weird way to ghost. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt because he was telling me about how draining talking to people has been for him lately, but I have no idea what to do next.

I want to check up on him, but I don’t want to bother him and don’t want to come off as passive aggressive with a ‘are you okay?’ text. Should I just wait, or maybe check up on him? The fact that he mentions how introverted he is and how he has a small social capacity but still managed to talk to me in detail and ask questions makes me doubt that he was using me or was just bored.
