So I have this guy friend who I've known for two years.. At first everyone pretty much liked him more out of us two and mutal friends defended him more.
We got into it over something that was neither of our fault. I think someone told him I said something terrible about him behind his back and he believed it (i think happened I don't know, no reason he started being really salty towards me and got annoyed by everything i did.) After two months of being friends, our friendship was at stake. For a year, since the argument, we had ups and downs, he'd would talk bad about me to the mutal friends and we would be cool then off again. The mutal friends were rude to me and cut me off for him.
I didn't hear from him for a few months until out of the blue he started sticking up for me. I was in some drama with the mutal friends for the longest that was caused because of him, but he just started defending me from them all of a sudden (which i thought was weird cause he didn't like me). After that about three weeks ago, he finally approached me, we talked and he mentioned how he heard all about the rude stuff that was said about me from the drama and told me to ignore it, he also mentioned how intimidated he was by me and said he didn't know why. He never apologized though.
We are now friends again and we have each others back. The same people who was his friends (who cut me off for him ) are trying to be my friend and wants/wanted me to turn against him. For some odd reason they don't like him and they strongly dislike us being friends, I don't know.
So far I haven't had an issue with him.
With me, he is super sweet and gives me compliments all the time like he was when we first met lol but from others I hear how rude he is to them. Overall I really like having him as a friend because I've never had a friend who stick up for me and helped me as much as he does. Is it a good idea for me to be friends with him again?
