Is it normal for a guy to urinate himself after being kicked in the groin?

Several months ago, I was attacked while walking back to my car at night. Long story short, a drunk guy started catcalling and following me. I panicked, took off my heels, and started running toward my car. He managed to catch up to me and grabbed my wrist. That’s when my Taekwondo training kicked in and I turned to face him. He was wearing tight jeans, so I aimed at the zipper in his crotch and kicked it hard. He grabbed himself and doubled over with a look of shock on his face, but didn’t let go of me. I didn’t know if I had hurt him enough because I was barefoot, so I kicked him again. He finally let go of me and grabbed himself. That’s when I noticed that liquid was dripping his pant legs and realized that he was actually peeing himself. I was able to get the hell out of there while he was busy wetting himself and reported the incident to the police. In all my years of taking women’s self-defense classes, I’ve never heard of an attacker wetting himself from a groin strike. Is it normal for a guy to do this after being hit in the groin or did I end up damaging something “down there”?

Let's just say while it may not happen the majority of the time, it's not surprising. Your kick (s) probably landed on one or more of the pelvic floor muscles or nerves running to it/them- most notably the urethral sphincter- releasing any control it/they have to contain urine in the bladder (since the bladder IS a muscular "bag", essentially.

"The walls of the bladder are mainly formed by detrusor muscle, which allows the bladder to contract to excrete urine or relax to hold urine. At the inferior end of the bladder, the detrusor muscle is continuous with the internal urethral sphincter. It wasn’t as dramatic but I once saw a guy pee himself after getting hit by a football, I don't think its common as I’ve never seen it any other time but it can happen if his hit really hard?

In all the times I’ve kicked guys in the balls I’ve never once known a guy to pee himself 😂 but I guess it can happen if it happened this one time with you 🤷🏼‍♀️ anyway, good on you for defending yourself against this guy in the best way possible.

I can tell you from experience that one well armed and connected kick can leave you reeling and struggling to avoid dropping to your knees.

And this is the outcome of a girl with a front kick to the groin with full momentum which floored me.

A very rare case that rarely happens. Usually when the blow is very strong or you just had to pee before and you just released it to him ahead of time.
