Why did he want my phone passcode and why did he ask if I still speak to my exboyfriend?

A guy friend of mine whom confessed that he sees me as more than a friend -cuddles me up and we make out... things got hot and heavy but no intercourse happened - he’s a virgin still.

we were having a happy pleasant time together and I was showing him my photos in my phone and he got curious to see this photo of me and my ex... then he wanted my phone passcode and asked me if I still speak to my ex...
He playfully grabbed my phone and was trying to unlock it...

is it because he's jealous and wants me? Or was he just plain curious?
