What Guys Said
I will always hold a door open for someone coming through behind me, Woman or Man.. Manners cost nothing..
I do. I was raised to be a gentleman. Not that woman are weak or less than but to cherish women cause they are able to give life. That is something to be chesrished. Also to respect. To quote 2pac. We all came from a woman and all got our names from a woman. It's time to celebrate our women.
I do luv, for the girl I am with even if she is my sub or some lady I don't know either unless she tells me otherwise.
A girl deserves some chivalry if I can give her but my chivalry is not for everyone.
If she's walking right besides or behind me when I'm going into a store or any door I will open the door and let them in first but I do that for both men and women and people do it for me sometimes. Its no big deal.
I open doors for any person not just women. For me it´s a nice and caring gesture.
I do. And I always hold it for the person behind me. Male or female.
I do when ever I get the chance and depending on the possible interaction before
Yes! You never know who you'll meet!
Yep agreed
I do. Have had some women discourage it. Like, thats just dumb when someone is only being polite
I open the door for anyone behind - it's common courtesy.
I hold doors open for everyone. Men and women. I don’t care who they are.
I open doors for everyone, man or woman. Every now and then, it catches people by surprise and their faces light up. It makes my day. Most people don't react at all and that's fine too. I just do it because it's nice and it doesn't take much effort
Always have and always will. My son does too and I didn't really have to teach him to do that. He just picked it up from watching me.
Equality
@MJtheCoach what do you mean by equality? Each person has the right to open their own door? Yes, but I open doors for men too. If I'm the first one to get to the door I hold it open for whomever is behind me. It's the polite thing to do.
If someone is behind me or in front, I generally open the door. Their gender does not matter. It's basic manners.
About a year ago I had a young woman inform me that holding the door was sexist and she could open her own damn door.
That was the last time I did that.
My friend calls it my "dog training" when I forget and hold the door open for her.
You know you're getting old when the things you were taught are good are now considered bad.
She calls you a dog in training for being polite?
@TrueConfection woof woof.
@exitseven 🤔 Maybe you should bite her @slartybartfast.
Heh... You could say to her: "That is what shepherd dog does. Now don't be a stubborn sheep and go through the door". :-D
@Mango-man 😂😂😂
Yeah, I do. Girls I know LOVE it.
Sometimes I just do it regardless, but especially if it's a cute girl 😉
For my wife, all the time. Otherwise rarely, because in this day and age you stand an 80% chance of being called a sexist pig, and being accused of sexual assault if you do it.
I wonder if it has to do with location. My husband and my son hold doors all the time and to my knowledge they have never been called names, accused of sexual assault, berated, or put in prison.
I never was put in prison.. But it happened to me twice. One was at a restaurant, and the other was at a YMCA.. I stopped after that. Why be nice if I'm going to be yelled at.
The women accused you of sexually assaulting them?
80% means you opened doors less than 3 times.
Yes, and a wise man learns from the mistakes if others..
I didn't have to stick a finger in a light socket to learn not to.
I just open the door for women especially my wife and daughters.
I open or hold doors for anyone in public (unless I am exiting room that is already full).
Though, I only let people I know into our living building to avoid thefts.
All of us do since it's written in the constitution and we have to follow the rules. Lmao I open doors for myself and laugh at the people behind me thinking I'm going to hold the door open for them only to see them quickly grab the door before it hits them. No one does anything for me and never will. So why should I do it for them?
I open the door for people in general, not necessarily specifically for women.
I always hold the door open for women and even men if they are right there
I still do for anyone but lots of people are rude these days, but some still do for me too when I have packages in my hands.
I open the door for everyone. Today a woman opened it for me.
I hold the door and I’ve taught my son to do the same.
I do all the time. Get thanked and complimented that gentlemen are still around.
Wait? Guys have STOPPED doing that?
Yes, but it looks like a small number.
Their was only one time I refused to open a door for a lady or anyone and that was when she told me not to and that she can do it herself.
I still do it for men old people etc.. I just don't for able bodied women because it's considered creepy or unwanted by some.
Sometimes I forget as it's an ingrained habit from childhood to hold the door for women like other outfashoned gentlemanly behavior I've had to retrain myself not to do.
If i see someone is coming behind me or in front of me, i will hold the door. I don't care what they think.
i do it all the time, i am a gentleman and i like to really be nice to anyone i meet.
I do, but I've definitely been chewed out for it a few times.
