+1 yNo. By this logic men should have the responsibility to carry a child, should have the responsibility to endure period pain/ rape pain by making men get anal raped till we have the exact same amount of male victims like female ones or women should have jobs that requires the physical strengh of a man, should endure the pain of men who get hit in the balls etc. I personally believe in equity rather than equality since men and women ain't same and have different needs.

I also did not even read your whole post. This is what you think about equal responsibility. Noone should cheat etc. This has nothing to do with equality
- +1 y
What i am saying that we can't make everything equal since it is against the nature or it does not make sense. You can't make the number of female rape victims same as male rape victims and vica versa for example

That means if a man can't hit a woman , neither can she hit a man.
It also means that if a man can lift 50kilos , so can a woman.
Equality means that the label "woman" is no longer required.00 Reply

@poof_22 equal opportunities you say. So we should remove gender quotas and affirmative action that give women an unfair advantage when applying for college and jobs and give them the opportunity to prove they were hired on their merit and not because they have a vagina.
Women only scholarships? Is that equality?
So im an asshole if i dont help women do their job? wasn't there a big debate about women demanding equal pay for equal work? - +1 y
@grega239 if women are still discriminated for a job they can perfectly do just like men then remove the discriminatory process till there's no gender discrimination to that matter and I would absolutely fight for your right to not help people when they could some but you are still an asshole in my book. Just keep being you.
- +1 y
@grega239 depends on the industries. Women are thriving in academics and in some cases surpass men. I'm petite so I'm not worrying about joining an construction company, I will be """discriminated""" and rightfully so but in IT for example, my skills and hard work should matter not my vajayjay.
- +1 y
@poof_22 the reason i "care" about other memns opinion is because there are unspoken rules about such things.
"Women are thriving in academia" . Is that due to womens greater skill or affirmative action and gender quotas?
And how will you know that you were hired based on you skill and not because the company has a gender quota they must fullfil?
Furthermore, affirmative action programs and gender quotas only apply to women. This means that any company or institution that engages in these programs is discriminating against men. But i guess thats equality right?
- +1 y
@grega239 So you believe that women are incapable of having good skills and assume that every possible women on existence finish her studies and gets a job out of pure gender quotas? Cute.
Companies and industries have been discriminatory towards women for years and still is but that I doubt that bothered you since equality does not reality benefit you personally as a man right? - +1 y
@poof_22 the people who advocated for aa and gender quotas believe that women are incapable of having skills equal to men. Otherwise they wouldn't come up with it.
I dont care about womens skills. I have my own and dont need theirs.
They may be. here's why.
Women take more days off (personal or due to illness) ON AVERAGE
They are less likely to work overtime ON AVERAGE.
Women get pregnant , which means they will leave work. Men will not.
Men are financially better for a company.
Companies care about money.
Thats why.
Again, how will you know if a company hired you because of your skill and not because of gender quotas?
Is it not condescending and insulting to know that your vagina got you a job?
My problem is that you talk about equality and then make excuses for why women need all sorts of government sanctioned aid.
And as stated before. Affirmative action programs and gender quotas are LAWFUL GENDER DISCRIMINATION AGAINST MEN.
Thats not equality. Thats a privilage given to you because you have a vagina.
Your version of equality bothers me because its unequal, hypocritical.
No it doesn't bother me because i dont believe women are being discriminated against, because i can't name a single woman that i know who doesn't have a job.
Both my grandmothers had jobs, and they were born in the late 1940s. I had many female superiors in my previous jobs. The director at my current job is a woman. So is the director of the construction company i worked at.
And guess what. None of them bitch about equality and we dont have affirmative action programs.
I guess our women are better than wherever you're from

@grega239 So is it really fair punishing only one of the gender for the choice to have children. Only one gender is responsible for raising the child and spending time with them? Are men not parents? They are women who don't go on leave. Some go back to work 3 days after birth, because they could loose their job. In Canada, as well as many other countries, men are allowed to take paternity leave just as much as women are allowed to take maternity leave. Outside of the time a woman needs to actually give birth and recover, she is not required to be the one at home to care for the newborn since men are guaranteed the right to take time off to deal with a new child as the mother is. Furthermore, most fathers these days go to the childbirth. Not to mention, most women could be back in the job in a week or so, not much longer than an average vacation. It's only recently that men started being viewed as parents by corporations. Businesses usually offer insurance to entire families. So whether they hire the man or the woman in a couple won't change their liabilities there.
And now, generally the more people in the workplace the better since there is more productivity, more ideas. Allowing corporations to basically hire only half the potential candidates limits the potential of society. Wouldn’t you want to encourage as many people to work as possible?
And yeah it’s about being fair and not discriminatory. Everybody should have the same opportunity to make something of themselves. Giving everybody a fair shot is one of the keystones of western society. Yes, it may be sometimes a bit unfair to the 'big corporations' that they can't optimize their benefits, but the costs all end up being paid by their consumers anyways, and the consumers / society have all agreed that we want equal opportunities for everybody or would you prefer forcing women to be second class citizens?

- +1 y
@poof_22 women aren't being punished for having kids. No, both par responsible for the kid.
You can lose your job? Ok i guess we have different rules here.
Some women choose to go to work earlier than others and some never go back. Because they choose that.
Ummm why wouldn't men go to childbirth? What excuse is good enough for tgem to not show up?
More people doesn't mean more productivity.
No i would want to encourage people to choose like i did. I didn't have to speak up to be given my current position. but i did because I like it better.
We do have equal opportunity. What we dont have is an equal circumstances in life. I will never be a ceo because i dont have the patience for it and you will never be a construction worker because you're limited by your lack of physical ability. .
And i never made the point that women are or should be 2nd class citizens.
What i said was that that women may be looked over by companies, but you can't fix that by ordering companies that a percentage of their staff have to be of a certain gender.
As a society we have agreed that discrimination based on certain characteristics is unjust but we can only create so many rules to mitigate that before we start limiting one group over another.
There are more female teachers and nurses because women are simply better at these jobs. Should be create gender quota to get more men into these jobs? Of course not. That'd be stupid.

@grega239 you are completely sexist and most of what you’re saying is not true. in every job i have had, the women in general have worked harder. not to be cocky, but i am the hardest working in my sales team and the rest of them are men. my female manager works harder than my male manager. the fact that you resort to things like ‘oh you can’t use the excuse of being a woman to get out of lifting heavy things’ is ridiculous, as if you think that’s a huge issue and every girl says that. i’m not asked to lift things at work, even though i am stronger than my male colleague and would be happy to help!
- +1 y
@sunflower00 you as an individual may be better than you male co-workers. But we're not talking about individuals, we're talking about groups.
The reason i resorted to women not having the excuse of being a woman anymore is because we're talking about equality.
Equality is an absolute. Its all or nothing. You can't have equality when its convenient for you and then drop it when its not.
You're not asked to lift shit because you're a woman.
The fact that you do your job well doesn't disprove my point. It just means you do your job well. And it doesn't make you special because i know women who could put men to shame, but those are few and far between.
And as long as women have the benefit of affirmative action programs and gender quotas , you can spare me the equality bs and accusations of sexism. - +1 y

@sunflower00 but having those doesn't make you equal, it makes you superior.
I never claimed women aren't hard working. You made that claim.
I said men are generally better at working because we're anatomically built for labor.
Looked at as an equal candidate?
I got my job because the other MEN that applied were not my equals. Thats how that works. - +1 y
This was a good debate folks
@grega239 appreciate your manners bro you didnot get personal and remained calm stick to the topic while the female participants got personal on you and called you names and it's called attacking and they did that lol it's funny how easy for them to say something and not face consequences now if you would have shown that behaviour now 20 gals would gathered and scolded you like one person who used that word scolded 🤷 . - +1 y
