This morning when we woke up I gave him a handy, afterwards he said he doesn't deserve me.. I found it sweet but the more I think about it, it could be his way of letting me know he's doing things he shouldn't or something?

Sounds like you are making too much out of it... could be taken both ways. But you if you are feeling a certain way about it then you need to follow up with him and gage where you are in the relationship. But do not let this anxiety build up in yourself... talk to him.
