I'm also not using myself as an exception to try to disprove a general rule. Anyone who isn't extremely shallow sees more value in a person than any superficial bullshit that could go away at any moment like money or looks. I'm not saying they're not part of the equation at all, but they are absolutely not the sole basis of a person's value (not to mention neither has any effect on a person's value as a human being; you could have both of those things and still be a piece of shit).

It's not "rare" at all to see average looking men in relationships, unless you and I have vastly different perceptions of "average". I know many very plain/ordinary looking men in my opinion that are in relationships. I've known people like that my entire life.
I highly doubt there are any "scientific" studies that can prove or disprove that either way, though, because there is no "scientific" definition of "average looking". It's very subjective.

it depends on how you look at 35. A lotta guys start losing their hair in their mid 30s which drastically reduces their attractiveness.
But typically, 20 yr old girls date guys that are 21-26 years old. Not 35 yr olds. I don't think most 35 yr old guys are romantically interested in 20 yr olds either, he might have sex with her but not take her seriously as a potential wife.

Plus, most celebrities are above average in looks. I'm not saying some can't age that well, but it isn't the best representation of the male population, just as a female celebrity wouldn't be for the female population.
