Need advice about a suspected pedophile after my daughter?

There is this perverted 40 year old man who tried calling child services on me claiming he loved my 2 year old daughter and needed to be with her and was going to adopt her (sick I know, I reported him immediately, tried having him charged but police are f****** useless) after meeting her only ONCE. Well, months after the police warning him he had to leave us alone he's posted a picture of my daughter to his Instagram with the caption "Blind date ;)" ... I am reporting him no question asked but here is my question. He is supposedly going back to his home town across the country today. He apparently has a flight booked. NO ONE wants him here because he is an absolute perverted menace and is known to police as such but should I wait to see if he does in fact leave before reporting him? My logic is that if the police contact him before he leaves, he is very deranged, would know it was me who reported and may act out by staying and screwing with us as he knows where we will OR if I report it after he leaves, maybe it will be enough to keep him from ever coming back? Okay I've just called and reported it to the police. They're going to get back to me today at some point. I'm really scared at this guy lashing out and deciding to stay because I've done this to mess with us but I am going to try to get the restraining order

The police got back to me. At I felt attacked like they were some how questioning my parenting "allowing" this guy into our lives? Anyways... I could see I was getting no where with this officer so just asked them to put it on file and I have asked everyone I know to report the Instagram picture. The police say because he's not contacting me he's doing nothing wrong but how is that not wrong? Posting a picture of my daughter without asking and writing "Blind date ;)" under it? I'm so mad

I say report him and try to get a restraining order. That way there's court documentation and police reports showing he is a menace to you two and why. So if he tries something and you have to use fatal self defense, you have some protection.

Unfortunately in Canada they say even if someone breaks into your home if you kill someone in defense you are charged

To my understanding after reading some of it, it's a grey area. But if you or someone under your care is in danger of bodily harm or another serious crime, you can defend yourself using whatever force is needed to neutralize that threat.

Thank you for looking into that for me. I've invested in some better locke and security cameras and the police say if he ever comes here he will be arrested. Hopefully he goes home to Toronto today fingers crossed.

My nerves at seriously shot though. When he did the child services thing months ago I had panic attacks every time I left my house and seeing this picture has brought it all back. The police said that because the picture was actually posted a couple days before I reported his voicemails that he has follow d their instructions and not messaged me. Your daughter may now be safe from him (maybe) but that just means someone else's is NOT

you can ask for a higher level officer to take a look at your report if you do not feel the officer is taking the threat seriously.
especially with yourself feeling the "attacked" factor of his investigation.
also could be worth adding in if the photo posted was not one you shared to social media. may also be worth seeing about making a fake account to almost bait him into saying more on the instagram post? up to you though

But my friends and family and I have already made numerous reports about the pic so I think he will be notified and I think technically anything he'd say to me (me as a decoy) would be considered baiting. It's such a sick world. Pedo and evil POS are free to run around

Get a restraining order and a gun. Learn how to use the gun. Teach your daughter immediately on how to protect herself and get away from trouble - might be worth even getting some sort of tracker for her (like an Apple air tag)
