Maybe he cares about you I don't know. If you had something between you two, some romantic thing I guess he could be jealous if you didn't I guess he cares about you.
I know when I'm having tough period of time in relationship of breakup my boys will always call girl "bitch" doesn't mean she is wrong in all that but they have my back no matter what, haha :D
