Why do guys have such a hard time respecting us?

Respect is earned, not given (beyond a basic, "we're all human beings" level). Part of that is behaving respectfully yourself, and part of that is demanding a reasonable level of respect from others from Day 1. If you carry yourself with respect, and if you call people out on it immediately if they disrespect you anyway, then people will know that you require respect, and they'll treat you that way. It doesn't need to be a huge production either - you can just say "please don't speak to me that way, it's rude" and move on - no need for shouting or theatrics.

Men (the vast majority, anyway) start out in life with essentially no value, and we have to earn whatever value we eventually come to have. We work for respect every day, which is why we tend to get respect. Women hit puberty and their fertile wombs give them tremendous social value without their having to do anything to earn it, but many women take advantage of that and they don't behave in a way that earns respect from people, and then they're surprised when they aren't respected. And, unfortunately, even if YOU act respectfully, so many other women don't that many men treat ALL women without respect UNTIL/UNLESS she proves to be worthy of it - in other words, other women are screwing things up for you.

Finally, if you are pursuing the top 20% of men (and this is true if you're going for just the top 10% or less), those guys have so many options with so many women that they're not likely to ever give you the kind of respect you want. If you want respect, you'll find it in the lower 80% of men, and only very rarely in the upper 20%, and almost never in the top 10%.

Power is a very amazing thing isn't it? Those with power usually look down on others. Of course good morals can easily help change this, if someone with good morals have a decent amount of power. They could possibly change the outlook of others on both several things. However due to mainstream media, porn, certain music groups and genes, among other more historical things. Men have been either taught or weren't told not to do so. They just do as they wish. Of course their are ones who aren't in that rule but for the most part its due to bad parenting, social media and experiences that lead to this point of view on other people not just women. So in short its a number of factors that aren't solely the fault of men. Are their ways to change this? Yes bring back morality, start punishing assholes both in person and online, Have better communities control how their kids act around themselves and others, better schooling and other things

Respect is earned, but given. It’s also not a one sided thing like majority of women seem to think it is. You gotta give men a chance to earn your respect too and unfortunately it you women ask for far too much in way of earning said respect. So I don’t feel sorry for you at all
