If you think you need looks, money and status to attract beautiful women the only woman you will attract are gold diggers. I personally think men who think that or are like that have to high of standards, and they only want a beautiful woman as eye candy. Or as they call a trophy wife. But she most likely won’t be able to cook, clean, or won’t want kids and a family life. She will always crave the attention of other men because she knows she is extremely beautiful and will attract it. But to me that spells disaster most of the time. Find someone who likes you for who you are and not what you have or the size of your wallet. Those woman are materialistic and you will go broke trying to please and keep her.

Firstly, this is not a universal perspective. More and more people are seeing relationships as an equal affair as time goes on and new generations are born. But, to answer your question for those who do still believe this, it's based on how selective men and women tend to be in dating.

Men tend to have lower standards for partners and be less selective. Women tend to have higher standards for partners and be more selective. It's harder for a man to go out with or sleep with an attractive woman than it is for a woman to do so with an attractive man. It's as simple as that. Value is based on valuation, not a concept of some "intrinsic worth." Men would be seen as "the prize" in traditional American culture if they were more selective with their partners, and woman were less.

They can bang 100 guys a week if they wish, but the majority of those guys are either unattractive to them, or would only bang them and move on. After all, when you have an unlimited supply of sex, it loses it's value and you want quality only.
