sadly it is highly important.

put yourself in the shoes.if ur a guy.and two women are walking near you.one woman is shy, goofy, seems awkward insecure, while the other has a neutral smile, chin up, confident walk, and seems friendly at the same time.it is more likely your eyes will be placed on the more confident woman.

a guy who is confident is happy with himself. he doesn't need anyones approval or suggestion, he is being himself and won't change for anyone because he has self-respect. If you respect yourself and what you stand for, its not only attractive to a woman, but its also admirable. Women want a guy who is slightly dominant over them, they want to be safe and feel secure with a man. Confidence is what makes that woman feel safe in his arms. If you like a girl, look out for her, show her you care, and think aloud with your beliefs, and be noble. Shed be drueling all over you in an instant ;]

its also important not to overdo it. Overconfidence shouts the impression you're cocky, egotistical and too self-obsessed. It can be a turn-on because women want guys' attention, so in a way it can be chase, but long term, a girl wouldn't wanna be in a relationship with a guy who is so full of himself.

confidence is just as important to women as it is to men. would you want to date a frumpy, unconfident, wishy-washy girl?

being shy around someone you like is rather endearing and cute, but if your shy and meek around everybody all of the time then it makes you appear weak.

note, confidence does not mean cocky. be proud of yourself and whatever makes you you, but don't be arrogant about it.
