It means he doesn't like it when you're sad and he wants to make sure everything is okay. He cares for you. On the flip side, he's probably faking it just to have sex with you.

He doesn't tell me he feels sad when im sad but I can see it. Like he looks sad and down and when I asked him to be around and he couldn't, I was sad and he looked sad.

Also when he informed me he was abroad for a week and needed to let me know (he's not my boyfriend by the way) it's because I think he knew i would miss him that week. So I told him to enjoy himself. But he's been very attentive while he's been away. And when he told me he was away for that week on facetime he looked like he was worried about my reaction
