Unlike 60 years ago when the advantages of marriage was greater than the occasional disadvantages, more and more men are becoming aware that marriage is like playing against a stacked deck. There are fewer advantages and considerable more disadvantages. That is especially true for those with high incomes and wealth.

The disadvantage don't apply near as much with men earning minimum wage salaries and that are often unemployed. And, family courts can't punish them like they do other high income men. If family courts award high child support, they can drop out and mow lawns, move furniture or become one of the homeless and, any event, they pay no taxes from the money they receive from home owners. They don't have a bank account, and maybe don't even drive. Or, if they do drive, they assume another man's identity just to acquire a driver license and, since they never report any income, the duplicate identity is not revealed to the IRS.

Even if they are found and arrested, the family courts are powerless. They will send them to jail until they make all back payment; however, after several months, when the don't and can't pay, the state doesn't want the cost of housing and feeding them so they are released and forgotten about. The orders to pay are still there but there is no attempt to enforce them. However, they are not the choice men that women want to marry.

Fix marriage laws, make them truly equal and men will start considering marriage again. Those who are mocking guys for avoiding marriage have obviously not seen the majority of friends and family happy marriages turn into bitter year+ long divorces and watched the fathers get the short end of the stick, every single time, whether they were at fault or not. My uncle was cheated on, his wife filed for divorce, full custody and alimony. Moved in- but did not marry her new rich dentist boyfriend and proceeded to destroy my uncles life, sucking every cent from him. Never worked a day in her pathetic life. When he fled the state years later after their kids were grown to avoid the alimony she manipulated their kids to entrap him to see them and had him arrested and sent to prison. There is a special place in hell for people like her and those who enforce these laws.

Well I can tell you what I am. I'm basically girl repellent haha. Although girls usually say I'm physically attractive, clearly that means nothing.

I:
1) Have no drivers license
2) Currently unemployed, but passively trying to figure out a source of income online
3) Game the majority of my life away
4) Pretty pessimistic mindset about society and life

When do I plan on changing this? Not anytime soon, until I figure myself out. If a girl can't take me at rock bottom, she sure as hell doesn't deserve me at my peak. I'll just dream of the day where I find a partner that cares only for personality and likes me for me and not where I'm at in life.

Nerds, guy that don't want strings attached, guys who have been burned too many times, guys that are asexual, guys that are gay, guys that want to travel more as a sex tourist and get it overseas, guys who'd rather be a sugar daddy, guys who would rather just hang out with friends, guys who would rather save all their money for early retirement, guys who don't see a bright future for the direction of this country, guys who came from abusive mothers or ugly divorces, guys who have seen other men get divorce raped or lose custody of their kids, etc. There are many reasons guys don't want it anymore and they're all valid.

2. Stays home and plays video games all day everyday (a SO isn’t going to just show up)

Then those who either have personal issue, are really poor at socialising or just plain old toxic.

There is zero bonus on being single for life.

Social norms are different in every corner of the world. Some countries guys are married at age 14 and above. Most west changing rapidly every freaking week. People here in the west like to be single and married at the same time, the moment a guy saw a beautiful girl he is ready to give up the current state of affairs and go for a new one. Being single for life is not good for mentality and other parts health and life. Most priest and monk also have secret sexual relationship that sometimes will pop out in TV-Shows.

My cousin is because he has not came out of the closet at his 54 years of age and becauase he has a very very difficult temper to deal and also he likes to spend his time at home and barely goes out socially, he enjoys staying home and watch TV.
