All should be afraid because it doesn't matter if you're a man or woman, if you get sick and need assistance you'll be alone. It's always better to have someone.
it is self comforting to say I don't care to be alone and I am not afraid.. it won't matter until the moment arrises that you can't do something alone anymore.
Either just because of old age or because of a health issue..
My friend's mom for example.. has suddenly became partially blind.
it is so sad...
She doesn't have a husband but she is lucky to at least have a son. He is watching after her... Had she not had anyone at all, she would be left to deal with this all on her own
not just the fact that she needs help to get around now, but the grieving point of vision loss is difficult enough for anybody.
Most people do not care for others, and many elderly are mistreated by nurses or caretakers.. it's sad but people who work in medical fields or taking care of the sick are mostly in it for the money because it pays good.
They get fed up quick and disgusted when dealing with older people
and when it happens and you have nobody to tell, it is your word against theirs with nobody to help you..
I remember this girl who worked with old people was so disgusted she said she if one of them would poop she would pinch them under the table and twist it.. as if anyone could hold their bowels? WTF are old people not supposed to poop? if they could go normally they would not need of her assistance.. and if she's there for that, why get mad when she needs to do her job.. She is a sick person but people like her exist and even if not all of them pinch, most of them do not want to take care of older people that's why most end up in places where people are PAID to do it, they're there solely for the money and pray that you get one that is actually compassionate of others.
the best thing you can do is take care of your health and exercise so you will need as little assistance as possible as you get older because you will need assistance regardless unless you die before it. we all become like babies and will need someone to care for us again as we did once before.
being a woman or man doesn't stop that.

Considering that being a sugar daddy is a thing I wouldn't say that's necessarily true...
Well I'm not 50 yet. But I'm not. I have people in my life who love me, ergo I'm never alone. And a "partner" that doesn't really love you, support you, care about you, is just extra weight. Honestly I find it sad, those people who can never be alone.
Women are probably more afraid as they usually live longer than men. Also, guys often marry women that are younger than them.
