Why are guys so fucking clueless?

My husband made a joke about kidnapping a teenage girl. Understandably, she got very upset and scared. Why the fuck can't guys get it through their thick skulls how fucking scary life is for a woman?

Well,  some  guys don’t experience the same things women do. Men also experience crazy things like rape, kidnappings, or being a victim, etc, but they can’t put themselves in a woman’s shoes, just like we can’t put ourselves in a man’s shoes.  It’s not all men. It’s some men who just don’t think before they speak. Your husband, in this case, didn’t think of how insensitive his comment was. It’s understandable to be upset and scared by a comment like that. I think it’s something that you need to talk to your husband about, because that’s his issue.

I guess it’s difficult for some people to have empathy about situations they can’t relate to, but still not good to make jokes like that. Maybe just explain to him how you would have felt at that age if someone would have said that to you.

I don't know why he would think that would be an ok thing to joke about, especially when talking to a minor. Some people are just insensitive and don't think before they speak.
