Why do people act so crazy when they’re drunk? Why did this dude put me in a chokehold?

Yeah so I was at a college party today and I was talking to my female friend’s boyfriend and I had no idea what the dude was saying cuz his speech was so slurred but next thing I know he puts his hands around my neck in a chokehold and I’m taking them off telling the dude he needs to chill out.

He wasn’t angry or anything and he was actually being quite friendly but I’m just confused why he did this. It made me feel really uncomfortable and then moments later the dude tries hugging me like I’m his girlfriend and so I push him away and so his girl takes him away.

A couple hours later in the day I see him wondering around and the dude appears 3x more drunk to the point his head is literally bobbing as he walks.

Is this dude going to be ok?

I’m familiar with this.

There are many different types of drunks. The loud drunk. The mean drunk. The klutzy drunk. The quiet drunk. The sleepy drunk. But one of the worst is the handsy drunk.

This type of drunk will invade your space and get very, very close to you, almost as if you were best chums and he were going to tell you a joke. For whatever reason they want to touch you. They will grab you, shake your hand too long, drape their arm around you like you’re best pals who just survived a plane crash or something. It’s bizarre. I’ve known drunks like that when I was in the military. Since they constantly invade peoples space they tend to get in fights.

Yeah bro I’m a pretty chill dude so I was able to avoid getting in a fight but this dude was just being wayyyy too handsy
